Job Summary
The Audit and Tax Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in managing both group and local audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion of audit processes and tax compliance requirements. This position is pivotal in accelerating the year-end closing process and delivering high-quality documentation to meet internal and external standards.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Audit Management
Lead Audit Execution: Drive the timely completion of both group and local audits, ensuring all regulatory and internal requirements are
met by year-end.
Documentation Excellence: Prepare, organize, and maintain audit documentation to the quality standards, including supporting schedules and reconciliations.
Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with internal finance teams and external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes, resolve queries, and avoid delays.
Year-End Closure: Ensure all audit deliverables are finalized, and the group audit is fully closed, including signing of statutory accounts, by June 30.
Process Optimization: Identify gaps and implement improvements to streamline audit workflows and enhance compliance efficiency.
2. Financial Reporting
Develop and maintain a standardized audit reporting package for year-end handover.
Ensure all files and documents meet compliance and audit requirements, including:
Goodwill registers
Fixed Asset Register (FAR)
Position papers
Valuations
Loan calculations
Trial balance in local currency (LCY)
3. Tax Compliance
Provide Support: Assist with tax-related queries, including interpreting local and international tax rules, transfer pricing, and cross-border matters.
Regional Oversight: Support tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, with emphasis on EMEA, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
Risk Management: Identify tax risks and recommend mitigation strategies to prevent penalties and protect reputation.
External Collaboration: Work with tax consultants and auditors to resolve complex issues promptly.
Knowledge Building: Stay current on tax legislation and regulatory changes; share guidance and training with internal teams.
4. Process Improvement
Elevate the quality and completeness of financial documentation.
Workflow Optimization: Streamline reporting and audit preparation processes to reduce manual effort and accelerate turnaround times.
Implement best practices to reduce the burden on the finance team and improve efficiency.

Knowledge of the corporate and fund services industry is an advantage.
