Athlete Representation Manager

Opendorse One™

Location

Remote (US-based)

Role Overview

Opendorse One™ is a new athlete-first division launching in early 2026, built to deliver a direct, high-touch service for athletes who want help navigating commercial opportunities and maximizing their NIL. We’re building this from the ground up - combining Opendorse’s platform, market access, and athlete expertise into a more hands-on support model.

As an Athlete Representation Manager, you’ll be one of the first hires supporting this program. Your role is to work directly with athletes and brands to move opportunities forward, advising on pricing, deliverables, and deal structure while keeping athletes informed and confident. You’ll be part of a small, early team shaping the day-to-day playbook and athlete experience as the program scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal negotiation + closing
    • Lead negotiations with brands and partners on behalf of assigned athletes.
    • Set rates and terms consistent with athlete value and market context.
    • Push for best-in-class economics, fit, and outcomes for athletes.
    • Close agreements efficiently and professionally.
  • Athlete deal communication
    • Serve as the primary deal contact for your athlete book.
    • Explain opportunities, timelines, and terms clearly.
    • Get approvals, answer questions quickly (text/call accessibility), and keep athletes confident in the process.
  • Inbound routing + rapid response
    • Take routed inbound opportunities from the Intake/Deal Desk flow.
    • Follow up with brands fast, gather missing details, and move deals forward.
  • Deal coordination / execution handoff
    • Ensure every active deal is documented correctly and handed off for platform/campaign execution.
    • Partner with internal ops to confirm commissions, payouts, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Athlete advocacy
    • Be the internal champion for athlete needs and priorities.
    • Raise red flags early (low quality deals, risky terms, mismatched partners) and propose solutions.
  • Process improvement
    • Provide ongoing feedback on deal trends, pricing, objections, and athlete sentiment to refine packages and systems.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years in negotiation-heavy roles: talent representation, sponsorship sales, partnerships, sports marketing, influencer/creator management, or agency work.
  • Strong negotiator with the ability to drive value while protecting relationships.
  • Confident communicating money/terms with brands and simplifying them for athletes.
  • High responsiveness and comfort being “on call” for deal questions.
  • Can manage a large portfolio efficiently without losing quality.
  • Athlete-first lens and strong judgment.

What success looks like (first 6-12 months)

  • High close rate on inbound/outbound brand opportunities.
  • Strong average deal value and athlete satisfaction with outcomes.
  • Fast turnaround times from inbound interest → negotiated offer → signed agreement.
  • Clean coordination with platform/campaign execution (minimal errors, smooth delivery).
  • Athletes feel supported, informed, and represented, even at scale.
