Associate Veterinarian Description

Our Veterinary client is seeking change-makers and visionaries to add to their emergency/urgent care hospital in Lancaster, PA (no overnight hours or Sundays). As an Associate Veterinarian, you will be responsible for providing a personalized client/patient experience by leveraging the reimagined vision of veterinary care at the heart of this unique organization. They are looking for animal advocates and visionaries passionate about making a difference each day in a non-corporate environment, where pets are a priority over profit. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, exercises sound clinical judgment, and builds trust with pet owners. This ethics-driven practice offers modern equipment, mentorship, and a supportive environment for ongoing clinical growth.

Surgical Mentorship Program Available: This position provides the opportunity to do an intensive one-on-one surgical mentorship with a board-certified surgeon

Associate Veterinarian Responsibilities

•    Examine, diagnose, and treat canine and feline patients
•    Advise pet owners on general care, nutrition, and preventive health
•    Manage sensitive or difficult client conversations with compassion
•    Operate diagnostic equipment and accurately interpret the results
•    Restore pet health by treating animals surgically or medically
•    Educate owners about the benefits of spaying and neutering
•    Ensure adherence to veterinary standards, ethics, and clinic policies
•    Prevent rabies, brucellosis, and other disorders by testing and providing inoculations
•    Complete all required medical records and documentation
•    Collaborate with technicians to optimize workflow
•    Report communicable diseases to public health authorities as required

Associate Veterinarian Qualifications

•    DVM/VMD from an accredited program is required
•    Active veterinary license in good standing is required
•    3+ years of experience as a practicing veterinarian is required
•    Willingness to work one Saturday per month is required
