Associate Technical Designer

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Assistant Technical Designer will be responsible for supporting garment creation at Alice and Olivia. The Assistant Technical Designer will collaborate closely with the Technical Design Lead and  Production. This role is critical for ensuring an accurate and efficient product design process. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
•    Accurately measure fit, Pre-Production samples and Top of Production Samples.
•    Update all Tech Packs with any changes/revisions made to product as needed.
•    Assist with keeping sample library organized.
•    Assist TD team with pattern corrections and/or draping for selected styles.
•    Work with multiple product categories (tops, bottoms, outerwear, ) for woven.
•    Identify and call out any fit/construction/workmanship issues to be addressed and communicate all corrections and revisions to factory
•    The Associate Technical Designer will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of product measurements, quality, construction, and fit
•    The Associate Technical Design level in the organization needs to support Technical Design within the company.
•    Must be organized and able to independently prioritize workload
•    Enter fit comments into Excel with product pictures/dates ensuring timely data entry according to brand calendars and deadlines
•    Add/update construction detail sketches using Adobe Illustrator, Excel, or other systems as needed.
•    Confirm correct grade rules in the tech pack to produce compliant products for fit in each size.
•    Measure garments accurately to identify any fit issues and execute fit comments efficiently to remain on schedule with production.
•    Participate in fit sessions, provide recommendations, note callouts, and log critiques to address all issues efficiently
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
•    4-Year College Degree: Preferred with training in Technical Design
•    2-3 years in the apparel industry in technical design and/or pattern making
•    A Team Player
•    Able to work under tight deadlines and prioritize/manage workload
•    Very Organized
•    An excellent communicator, both verbal and written
•    Have a basic understanding of Grading.
•    Strong attention to detail with a solid understanding of patterns, fit, color, balance, garment construction and fabrics.
•    Ability to adhere to calendar to ensure deadlines are met.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PLM ).  
•    Strong time management and organizational abilities
 
$70,000-75,000 base salary (This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this NY - based position. The base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other A+O employees.)
