Associate Service Engineer

TLDR

Support maintenance and repair of laboratory instrumentation and low complexity robotics, while adhering to safety protocols and Good Documentation Practices.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Service Engineer role focused on maintenance and repair of standard laboratory

instrumentation and low complexity robotics.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide a brief description (5 to 7 sentences) of the essential functions/main areas of responsibility for the position

with the overall importance reflecting what is essential to be successful in the position. Include the following

required statement “Performs other duties as assigned.”

● Handles basic troubleshooting, equipment servicing, and preventive maintenance.

● Follows SOPs and performs task-based assignments.

● Expected to troubleshoot issues that are limited in complexity.

● Begin to understand "3 pillars" of laboratory automation troubleshooting (hardware, software, and

assay).

● Document service tickets completely and with appropriate detail. Adhere to Good Documentation

Practices (GDP).

● Collaborate with Equipment Technicians to maintain service tools and spare parts and ensure

workspace organization.

● Adhere to lab safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Provide a list of qualifications that are truly required (e.g. Education and Experience, Equivalent job experience

substituted for degree, preferred level to perform principal responsibilities, required certifications to successfully

perform principal responsibilities, etc.)

● Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field.

● 0–2 years of experience in Service Engineering or regulated laboratory settings.

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic data analysis tools.

● Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols meticulously.

● Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
