About This Role  

Axsome Therapeutics is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate, Market Access Data Science who is motivated and intellectually curious with a strong foundation in quantitative thinking and a desire to learn. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, forecasting, and business partnering. This position will wear many hats—supporting technical development, shaping reporting solutions, and collaborating across departments to drive meaningful insights. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their career who is excited to grow into increasingly sophisticated analytical and technical responsibilities. 

This role is based at Axsome’s HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles.  

 Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Collaborate with IT to assess and select appropriate data environments (Azure, AWS, etc.) for analytical and reporting needs. 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust internal data archive ensuring data integrity, security, accessibility, and documentation. 
  • Support data ingestion, integration, and transformation processes as part of ongoing data ecosystem evolution. 
  • Participate in the technical design and generation of reports ranging from foundational dashboards to executive-level insights. 
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to understand reporting requirements and translate business questions into analytical outputs. 
  • Use tools such as Power BI and Tableau to build clear, intuitive, and actionable data visualizations. 
  • Assist with development of secure, compliant data transfer protocols with IT and within data governance standards. 
  • Contribute to the development of predictive models and forecasting tools. 
  • Engage with cross-functional experts to define hypotheses and refine modeling assumptions. 
  • Apply academically grounded analytical approaches such as ARIMA, exponential smoothing, and time-series decomposition. 
  • Partner with IT to align data strategy, infrastructure usage, and data governance compliance.  
  • Collaborate with Market Access, Commercial Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and other teams to integrate datasets and deliver insights.  
  • Support end-to-end analytical solutions that clarify market dynamics and shape strategic initiatives. 

 Requirements / Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related STEM field. 
  • Experience with Python, R, or SAS. 
  • Foundational understanding of forecasting or predictive analytics.  
  • Familiarity with SQL.  
  • Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.  
  • Basic understanding of data integration and ETL concepts. 
  • Ability to work on site Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles 

 Experience, Knowledge and Skills 

  • Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning skills.  
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tools, technologies, and business concepts quickly.  
  • High curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to dive into technical and business domains.  
  • Strong communication skills for translating technical concepts to non 

 Salary & Benefits 

The anticipated salary range for this role is $70,000 - $90,000. We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there may be flexibility on final job title and responsibilities. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location. Axsome offers a competitive employment package that includes an annual bonus, significant equity and a generous benefits package.
