The Associate General Counsel is an important member of Xometry’s Legal Department, providing strategic legal advice and counsel to the company on a wide range of legal and business matters. This role requires legal expertise, strong business acumen, and the ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory landscapes. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, results-oriented attorney with excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment.

Responsibilities:

Commercial Contracting, Product and Intellectual Property Support: 

  • Provide support on commercial contracting, including creating playbooks and other standardization of global terms focusing on risk and compliance
  • Provide legal advice and counsel for escalations by contract managers relating to all contractual matters
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, including commercial agreements, vendor agreements, and licensing agreements
  • Work closely with the product and software engineering teams as they create new functionality and update standard terms and conditions; help influence matters of compliance that should be incorporated into our technology stack
  • Assist with the management of Xometry’s intellectual property portfolio, including IP strategy and proactive filings and protections

Compliance Support (including Privacy): 

  • Provide support to senior attorneys in the department on a variety of legal, risk and compliance matters
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to various departments within the company on a wide range of global legal and business issues
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of global legal issues
  • Assist in compliance work, including work related to privacy and export controls
  • Assist in review and implementation of policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. state, preferably in Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Virginia
  • 5-10+ years of relevant legal experience with 2+ years of in-house experience, preferably within a technology company 
  • Strong understanding of commercial law, product support, technology contracts,  intellectual property, privacy, general compliance
  • Global export control knowledge helpful
  • Ability to prioritize and undertake mission critical tasks, providing exceptional service to various stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally with all levels of management regarding complex legal issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Strong ethical and professional judgment

The estimated base salary range for new hires into this role is $238,000-$280,000 annually + bonus depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
