Associate (Europe-based, Fully Remote)

AI overview

Support sustainability-linked financial projects by providing advisory expertise, managing due diligence, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders in a dynamic, climate-focused organization.

The role will be at Associate level. It will support project leads by providing financial advisory expertise in the origination, development, and due diligence of sustainability-linked projects across a range of sectors, including energy, mobility, waste, and the circular economy.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project or infrastructure finance. Exposure to project finance, debt instruments, public financial management (PFM), treasury operations, and financial structuring is considered highly advantageous, though not essential. A focus on sustainability is not a prerequisite. The candidate will work closely with Vice Presidents, Managing Directors, a Project Manager, and a team of analysts. A strong willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic, climate-focused organisation is crucial.

· Address unexpected challenges to help deliver successful outcomes

· Collaborate with colleagues to engage effectively with stakeholders in a variety of contexts and from diverse backgrounds

· Adapt communication style and approach when interacting with different stakeholders

· Apply knowledge of public and private financial management and/or treasury systems (where relevant) to strengthen the design and delivery of financial solutions.

· Minimum of 5 years’ relevant professional experience in debt advisory, infrastructure/energy finance, or public financial management/treasury, particularly in project finance or public-private partnerships (PPPs)

· Experience in the origination of financial instruments

· Prior financial advisory experience is advantageous

· Specific and relevant experience in developed markets and investment environments

· Must be fluent in written and spoken English (C1 level)

· Candidates must be fluent in at least one additional language; proficiency in French is highly preferred.

· Demonstrated project management experience

Skills Required

· Strong communication, writing and networking skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with senior management

· Excellent organisational skills and a keen attention to detail

· Ability to perform under pressure and manage tight deadlines

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Proven ability to work effectively with dynamic and diverse teams and stakeholders

· Must be capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision

· A strong team player with the ability to also work independently when required

Preferred locations — or destinations for those open to relocation — include Ireland, UK, Italy, Portugal, and Spain.

We expect suitable candidates to be seeking a move away from a traditional financial office environment, with a strong desire to focus on the impact of their work. Remote working is viewed as a key benefit, offering greater flexibility and an improved lifestyle.
