We are looking for an experienced Associate Director, US Marketing who will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies and tactics in support of the anticipated launch of an investigational treatment in growth disorders. You will play a critical role in the success of the US business and work alongside senior leadership to realize this success.  The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and exciting environment and the ability to flex between strategic and tactical thinking.  Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills required.

Position Summary

The Associate Director, US Marketing is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies and tactics in support of the anticipated launch of an investigational treatment in growth disorders. You will play a critical role in the success of the US business and work alongside senior leadership to realize this success.  The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and exciting environment and the ability to flex between strategic and tactical thinking.  Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills required.

This role will report to the Senior Director Brand Lead for growth disorders. The expectation is in-office three days a week at Ascendis’s Princeton, NJ location to collaborate with team members and colleagues.     

Responsibilities:

  • Play a pivotal role in the launch of a product in growth disorders in the US.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans and tactics for a launch product, collaborating with our global commercial colleagues.
  • Partner with sales, patient services, and market access teams to develop effective sales strategies, campaigns, and resources to achieve goals established for the US Business Unit.
  • Oversee creation of compelling marketing and patient support material, working closely with our US commercial colleagues.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of key marketing tactics in rare disease and provide insightful recommendations to improve the overall brand experience.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape, identify market research opportunities, and provide business updates and tactical recommendations to the commercial organization
  • Lead Medical, Regulatory and Legal Review of all promotional material, ensuring a high level of collaboration
  • Manage relationships with external agencies including advertising, digital marketing, etc.

Requirements

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, lead through ambiguity, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Rare disease or oncology experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field
  • 6+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical marketing, preferably with brand management experience
  • Proficiency in core principles of brand management, including brand positioning, value proposition, segmentation, messaging, and investment optimization
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interact with multiple audiences including key opinion leaders and patient advocates
  • Strong analytical skills as well as a strong understanding of healthcare market dynamics and the ability to identify market trends that impact business goals
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry trends, regulations, and development
  • Experience leading projects with cross-functional partners and facilitating consensus-building

Salary range: $180-195k/year DOE
