Associate Director, Trade Relations

TLDR

Play a critical role in developing trade activities and business relationships for Sobi's product portfolio while collaborating to drive brand performance.

The Associate Director, Trade Relations will play a critical role in the development and execution of the trade activities for Sobi’s product portfolio. This role is responsible for, developing strong business relationships with trade pipeline accounts, development of Trade quarterly business reports, SD COT Account Mgmt. Additionally, the Associate Director, Trade Relations will collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive brand performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop SP/SD pipeline partners for Sobi’s current and future portfolio needs.
  • Develop and maintain integrated business plans for SP/SD Department which measure specialty pharmacy progress and performance.
  • Measure SP/SD program performance on a monthly and quarterly basis, communicating results to leadership, and cross functional teams
  • Build strong relationships with wholesalers and specialty pharmacies to ensure awareness of Sobi’s products and pricing.
  • Support day-to-day activities with distribution partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery of products to end-user customers.
  • Analyze the local environment and align Sobi’s priorities to develop trade customer plans that deliver on defined business objectives.
  • Develop and execute account-based product distribution / new product launches and inventory management plans aligned to current and future brand strategy, including gross/net financial goals. 
  • Collaborate on the returns process from customers; identify any variances from expected levels of returns and recommend any changes needed to Returned Goods Policy.
  • Collaborate with Distribution Operations to ensure data reporting and supply chain needs are aligned with account needs.
  • Oversee trade customer returns to ensure compliance with Sobi’s Returns Policy.
  • Maintain open communication across the organization, particularly regarding cross-region and cross-functional customer efforts.
  • Provide insights into channel trends and monitor distribution services to ensure optimal performance.
  • Exercise sound judgment to ensure integrity and compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines in all activities and communications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
  • Proven success in driving sales through effective account development and implementation.
  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in establishing high-level customer relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Strong customer focus, both internal and external.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly visible environment.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and incomplete information.
  • Valid state driver’s license with proof of state minimum vehicle insurance.

Travel

This role requires the ability and willingness to conduct field travel, including overnight travel (>50%), attend sales meetings, visit client sites, and support other business needs

The base salary range for this role is $150,000-200,000. Each individual offer will be determined based on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, and location. Additionally, this role is eligible for both short-term and long-term bonuses, as outlined in the plan details.
