The Associate Director acts as the key strategic partner between Commercial Leadership (Sales, Marketing, and Market Access) and Field Operations. This role leads stakeholder engagement and oversees operational governance, translating high-level commercial objectives into actionable field strategies. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our systems, processes, and field capabilities continuously evolve to support the changing needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Governance

  • Business Alignment: Partner with Sales and Marketing leadership to align Field Operations priorities with broader commercial goals, ensuring seamless business execution.
  • Operational Governance: Establish and oversee the governance framework for field operations, driving consistency, accountability, and prioritization across the team.
  • Roadmap Planning: Translate complex commercial goals into scalable operating plans and a clear 12-18 month roadmap for field capabilities.
  • Vendor Oversight: Manage the partnership with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) for Veeva CRM, monitoring performance to ensure external resources align with the operational roadmap.

Change Management & Adoption

  • Change Leadership: Lead the change management strategy for new technology rollouts, process updates, and organizational pivots. 
  • Adoption Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive communication and training plans, in partnership with Commercial Enablement & Training, to maximize field adoption of new tools and systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to streamline workflows and partner with field leadership to resolve operational bottlenecks.

Launch Strategy & Field Engagement

  • Launch Readiness: Lead the operational workstream for product launches, ensuring the field force is deployed with precise targeting, optimized call plans, and fully validated tools prior to Day 1 in the field.
  • Strategic Insight: Integrate qualitative field feedback into launch planning discussions to ensure resource allocation and pull-through strategies are realistic and effective.
  • Field Engagement & Feedback: Act as the primary liaison for field teams within Home Office, ensuring that tools, messaging, and processes are designed to meet their daily needs.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or related) preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical commercial operations, field operations, or sales/marketing support roles.
  • Launch Experience: Proven track record of leading operational workstreams for product launches or sales force expansions.

Skills & Expertise

  • Operational Leadership: Demonstrated experience optimizing systems, leading cross-functional governance, and driving process improvement in a complex commercial environment.
  • Commercial Systems Strategy: Strategic working knowledge of the Veeva Commercial Cloud (CRM, Network). Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements without necessarily being the hands-on system administrator.
  • Vendor Management: Experience managing third-party vendors or Managed Service Providers (MSPs), including scope definition and performance monitoring.
  • Analytical Strength: Ability to interpret data and diagnose trends to inform strategic decisions that improve field effectiveness.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Strong ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority, drive alignment across Sales and Marketing, and clearly articulate operational roadmaps to leadership.

The base salary range for this role is $148,000-$195,000. Each individual offer will be determined based on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, and location. Additionally, this role is eligible for both short-term and long-term bonuses, as outlined in the plan details.
