Lead strategic brand campaigns for diverse clients, fostering innovative PR initiatives that generate significant media impressions while mentoring a dynamic junior team.

Small Girls PR is looking for an Associate Director or Director (depending on experience) to manage overarching strategy and client relationships, concept novel initiatives that drive headlines, manage deliverables for integrated campaigns, as well as oversee a team of talented junior staffers. This role will work with a wide range of creative and innovative brands across tech, beauty and general consumer lifestyle spaces.

There is no one-size-fits-all for an SGPR client which means your career will be further enriched with meaningful and diversified experience. We've handled mergers for GE, announced Esusu as one of the first Black-owned tech unicorns, launched paranormal investigations with Ring doorbells, created a closet calculator to see how recycled clothing impacts the environment with thredUP, and hired the Green M&M as Zappos’ newest “shoefluencer” when the spokescandy was put on hiatus due to her boots controversy. This team ideated a "Culture Cocktail" campaign that paired trending Taylor Swift dining headlines with proprietary Taskrabbit booking data to highlight how New Yorkers use Taskers for restaurant reservations, generating 740M+ media impressions across national outlets.

Note: We are looking for talent for our NYC office which is on a hybrid schedule, working two days a week in the office.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Drive long-term strategy and create tentpole campaigns for a range of clients in the consumer space.
  • Build strong rapport with client and interagency partners, operating as a lead contact
  • Establish and maintain warm relationships with consumer media in print, digital, podcast, and broadcast, leading to regular placements as well as feature stories.
  • Originate out-of-the-box ideas that strengthen client’s marketplace positioning
  • Furnish insights that capture both quantitative and qualitative results, acknowledging major wins, lessons learned, and moments of impact delivered by the team
  • Develop strategies and relationships to earn placements beyond .com
  • Mentor our strong and capable junior team, helping them flourish into future leaders

Why we’ll love you:

  • You have 5-8+ years of experience in media relations, corporate communications, or public relations with client leadership experience and proven warm reporter relationships
  • You know about trends, communities and events before others, generating campaign suggestions that connect these emerging concepts to client initiatives
  • You’ve personally come up with stunts or out-of-the-box ideas to generate PR that others had not yet thought of
  • You’ve been known for being a media relations savant, armed with a thick rolodex, and are excited to instill this penchant for networking in others
  • You are organizationally strong. You plan and delegate in a productive manner, focusing on key priorities
  • You’re scrappy and nimble, comfortable with quickly changing timelines and priorities

Why You'll Love Us:

  • Atypical Time Off: Generous PTO that scales with tenure, in addition to Summer Fridays, Day of Rests for mental health, Caregiving days, and time off for Unsick Days dedicated to preventative care
  • Deep Work Focus: Our Smalls In Sync program ensures you have dedicated time for collaboration and strategic solo work
  • Comprehensive Benefits: A 100% employer-covered medical plan, 401k match up to 4%, dental, vision, and more
  • Innovation Leadership: Our agency was amongst the first to offer client brand campaigns on TikTok (back when it was still called Musical.ly), has been recognized for pioneering unique HR policies live on The Today Show, and our AI Leadership committee has been training our employees at the intersection of PR and AI for over two years (not two months!)
  • Vibrant Culture: Employee-led committees shape company policy and organize team celebrations from book clubs to outings
