Associate Director, Agency & Syndication

The role will look to mitigate risk, optimise and enhance existing assets, recycle capital, and support new origination through strategic solutions, to deliver value to both Shawbrook and our customers

The role will support the Risk Distribution team, to help manage the risk profile of the book, including:-

  • Portfolio Solutions
  • Agency
  • Syndications
  • Sub-Participations with 3rd party lenders
  • Credit Insurance
  • Asset sales

The role will look to support the Commerical strategy aimed at continued success in our chosen market, supporting origination activities (syndicated facilities) and helping to ensure originated assets are structured in a manner to maximise both future distribution options and the optimum capital treatment (increasing returns).

The role will have ongoing responsibilities for solutions delivered – e.g. ongoing day to day management any existing of future distribution strategies, providing agency activities for syndicated facilities. this will ensure effective segregation of duties.

The successful applicant will have exposure to cross-divisional collaboration on real estate data and strategy, and as such this is an amazing opportunity to work in s newly established team.

  • Quantitative degree/CFA or equivalent qualification
  • Relevant prior work experience (Grad Scheme in banking is beneficial)
  • Previous experience in bank lending is a must - Structured Finance, Credit, Agency, Treasury, Accounting, etc. (KYC/AML experience not relevant)
  • Compliance and governance experience is also preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, advanced Excel knowledge, and ability to manage complex issues
  • Solid understanding of financial information, real estate, and SME lending structures, including familiarity with legal documentation
  • Knowledge of lending practices, risk, and covenant requirements
  • Expertise in credit risk management and administration
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience in strategic planning and executive-level reporting
  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Confident, ambitious, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Results-driven, with sound business judgement and personal commitment to success
