As the Associate, Alternatives Manager Research, you will be a key member of the Alternatives Manager Research team and an active participant on deal teams. Working closely with senior management, you will contribute throughout the investment process. You will source and underwrite investment opportunities across private markets with a particular emphasis on secondaries, as well as contribute to fund investments and co-investments.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as a key member of deal teams, sourcing and underwriting opportunities across primary funds, secondaries, and co-investments; draft clear, insightful investment memorandums.
  • Proactively schedule and lead manager meetings and diligence calls (often high volume) to gather information and insights.
  • Conduct comprehensive market and manager research to identify attractive opportunities; prepare ad hoc reports to support decision-making.
  • Monitor existing investments and contribute to periodic reviews, performance updates, and risk assessments.
  • Enhance research processes and methodologies; stay current on industry trends and regulatory developments.
  • Support client communications and presentations with clear, accurate written and verbal materials.
  • Bachelor’s degree; 3–5 years of relevant alternatives experience (private markets preferred), direct secondaries experience strongly preferred.
  • Breadth of underwriting across private equity, private credit, and real assets; demonstrated ability to source opportunities and build networks.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with attention to accuracy and audience.
  • High attention to detail, accountability, reliability, and intellectual curiosity; able to manage multiple priorities with support from the team.
  • Collaborative, inclusive teammate with the ability to work independently and on cross-functional deal teams.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with tools such as PitchBook and Preqin, or the ability to learn them quickly.
  • This position will work on a hybrid model out of our Santa Monica, Chicago, Pittsburgh or New York office

The pay range for this position is $85,000-$100,000. However, base pay will be determined on an individual basis considering various factors, including location, qualifications, skills, and experience. The total compensation package includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus and a full range of health and financial benefit offerings, which will be provided in conjunction with an offer of employment.
