BASIC PURPOSE: 

The purpose of this position is to maintain and implement cost accounting methods and related general ledger activities across products and divisions.

 

BASIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain standard costs. 
  • Daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance of cost system.
  • Determine, validate and explain variance calculations. (PPV, OMV & Mfg)
  • Monitor inventory movements and provide guidance to plants in their controlling of inventories.
  • Physical inventory planning, auditing and valuation.
  • Participate in monthly closing activities.
  • Reconciliation of accounts.
  • Compile inventory rollforward and revaluation data (semi-annually) and LCM.
  • Manage senior cost accountant at off-site facility.
  • Projects and improvement activities as required.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 – 10 years of progressive experience including 2 – 4 years as Superintendent or similar supervisory capacity.
  • Cost Accounting experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel.
  • Must understand and be able to implement costing concepts.
