Asst. Engineer – Prompt Response Team

Role Summary/Purpose

Fulfill customer expectation for locomotive reliability, performance and contract obligation during loco operations on Indian Railway network. Attend unscheduled incident, investigate, execute and fix problems on locomotive on IR network with complete coordination with shed while keep Shed informed of observations / investigation and corrective action taken if any. Perform locomotive replenishment requirement during loco running on Railway route.

Essential Responsibilities

Track Wabtec loco movement on IR network and gather information on working details.

Replenishment spares with PRT team to remain in readiness to attention to loco problems.

 Attend problems / incident reported by customer/ service sheds. Provide its investigation report to service shed and action taken to fix the locomotive problem.

 Inform service shed on action taken so that further course of action on the locomotives can be taken by shed.

 Carry out troubleshooting and diagnostic as per Wabtec process .

Carry out technical solution as per Wabtec maintenance procedure.

 Comply with safety requirements and standards of locomotives at all times.

Qualifications/Requirements

Diploma or equivalent of min 4+ year field experience on maintenance of ac diesel locomotive domain

• Strong background in diesel locomotive system for Mechanical system including bogies, diesel engine, air compresses, air brake system and radiators OR for electrical system including propulsion system, traction motors, traction alternator, aux. generators, radiator fan.
• Good ability to diagnostic and troubleshooting problems on ac-ac locomotives.
• Good capability to assess the status of safety and criticality of diesel locomotives system in event of problems and to decide the course of corrective action.
• Excellent Interpersonal skill with ability to work with customer and service shed.
• To Maintain site Matrix & data for monitoring and record keeping of KPI indicators.
• Must have Indian Railway Operational knowledge & rules for executing field related jobs.

• Excellent customer interaction skill.
• Understanding of operational setup of Indian Railway organization.
