About the role 

The Assistant Credit Manager will support the Credit Manager in overseeing credit operations, mitigating risk, and making timely collections while maintaining strong internal and external relationships.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the Credit Manager with day-to-day credit and collections operations 
  • Assist in reviewing and processing new credit applications, including financial analysis and credit recommendations 
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and proactively follow up on past-due accounts 
  • Communicate with customers regarding credit terms, payment status, disputes, and account resolutions 
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and leadership to balance customer relationships with credit risk 
  • Help establish and maintain credit limits, payment terms, and account notes in internal systems 
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, and unapplied cash 
  • Prepare reports on AR aging, credit exposure, collection activity, and risk trends 
  • Support month-end close activities related to AR and credit 
  • Assist with documentation, lien rights, and compliance processes when applicable 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of credit policies, procedures, and internal controls 

Qualifications 

  • 2+ years of experience in credit, accounts receivable, collections, or related finance roles 
  • Working knowledge of credit evaluation, AR processes, and collections best practices 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers and internal partners 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills 
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, growing organizations 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems (Business Central or similar a plus) 
  • HVAC, construction, distribution, or manufacturing industry experience is a plus

Compensation: $68,000-$80,000 DOE
