We're looking for purpose-driven individuals like you to join us on this exhilarating ride as we redefine healthcare data infrastructure. About the role: As our first internal Financial Controller, you will be the architect of our global accounting infrastructure. Reporting directly to the SVP of Finance, you will transition our financial operations from an outsourced model to a high-performing internal function. Your mission is to build the systems, controls, and team necessary to scale, ensuring that our financial data is not just accurate, but a strategic asset. You are a hands-on leader who thrives in the "controlled chaos" of a Series B startup. You will manage the complexities of our US and India-based operations while aligning with global reporting standards. You aren’t just closing the books; you are institutionalizing the financial discipline required for our next stage of growth. What you’ll do:
  • 1. Build and Lead the Internal Accounting Engine

  • Insourcing & Strategy: Lead the full migration of accounting data and processes from our external vendors to our internal systems.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor, and manage a team of direct reports to handle day-to-day operations.
  • The Close: Establish and own a "Fast Close" process (target: 5 business days) that provides leadership with timely visibility into performance.
  • Automation First: Build systems, tools and implement automation first tools to drive scale.

  • 2. Scalable Systems and Internal Controls

  • GL System: Ownership of a scalable GL system. Either enhancing our current setup or implementing a new tool for rapid scale.
  • AR/AP Systems: Evaluate and own AR/AP tech stack. Enhance current tech set up or evaluate systems to better help us scale.
  • Compliance Framework: Design and implement robust internal controls and SOPs to ensure audit readiness and prevent leakage.
  • SaaS Specifics: Manage complex revenue recognition (SaaS, Usage based, Hybrid, ROI based models).

  • 3. Treasury and Global Tax Management

  • Cash Oversight: Manage local and international cash flow, ensuring optimized working capital as we scale.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with Indian GST, TDS, and Corporate Tax laws, while coordinating with US/Global entities.
  • Audit Management: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, ensuring clean, efficient annual audits.
  • What you’ll need:
  • Must-Have Experience

  • The Credentials: Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA with 8–12 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • The "Build" Mindset: Experience transitioning from an outsourced accounting model to an internal team.
  • Systems Mastery: Advanced experience with cloud-based ERPs (QBO, NetSuite, Intacct, or SAP) and automation tools (Ramp, Chargebee, AI native tools).
  • Global Coordination: Experience working for an Indian subsidiary of a US-headquartered company, with a strong grasp of US GAAP and IFRS.

  • Preferred Experience

  • HealthTech/SaaS Vertical: Deep understanding of recurring revenue accounting (ASC 606) and the specific cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) structures in health technology.
  • Audit Firm Background: Early career experience at a "Big 4" accounting firm (EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC) is highly desirable.
  • Startup Scaling: Proven track record of working in a high-growth startup environment (Series A to C), specifically taking a company through the growth phase.
  • At Certify, we're committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. As an equal opportunity employer, we celebrate diversity and warmly invite applicants from all backgrounds to join our vibrant community.
