We’re hiring an Asset Manager in Dusseldorf or Hamburg

As our new Asset Manager in Dusseldorf or Hamburg you'll be part of a team of over 150 Sunrockers who are committed to expanding sustainable energy solutions throughout Europe.

The German team
Sunrock Germany is rapidly expanding its solar portfolio. We currently operate 110 MW in Germany and expect to double this in the coming year, supported by a healthy development pipeline. You will join a team of 4 teammates in Germany and will work closely with colleagues across Project Management and Development. You’ll report to the Director Asset Management, based in the Netherlands, while being part of a larger German organisation that is scaling fast.

Overview of the role

As an Asset Manager, you ensure that Sunrock’s German assets run safely, reliably and in line with our quality standards. You start hands‑on to gain a strong understanding of our sites, contractors, documentation and processes. From there, the role grows into a Lead Asset Management position, where you will lead the German Technical Asset Management team on a daily basis. Your responsibilities include:

Asset Portfolio Performance

  • Monitor asset performance, resolve deviations quickly, and ensure safe, reliable operation.

  • Conduct technical analyses and optimise preventive and corrective maintenance.

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure all site activities meet Health & Safety standards.

Contract Management

  • Manage EPC and O&M contractor performance, ensuring they deliver timely with high-quality and according to the agreed scope of works.

  • Coordinate with grid operators and technical service providers on grid connections, metering, outages, and compliance.

  • Lead contract improvements supporting safe, high‑quality operations.

External Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure strong, professional relationships with real estate owners and tenants where Sunrock operates.

  • Coordinate safe on‑site activities, inspections, and issue resolution with stakeholders.

Cooperation with our development organisation for high-quality handovers

  • Ensure thorough and complete technical handover of new assets.

  • Review documentation, punch lists, Health & Safety files and confirm operational readiness.

  • Coordinate all handover‑related site activities with technical contractors, grid operators and property stakeholders.

Improvement of the Asset Management Department

  • Enhance Asset Management  processes, reporting, monitoring and maintenance strategies

  • Identify optimization opportunities from incidents, inspections and operational insights.

  • Support development of Germany‑specific procedures aligned with standards from the international AM team.

Requirements

This is you:

  • You hold a BSc or MSc in a relevant field;

  • You have at least 7 years of experience in Asset Management, Contract Management or Project Management;

  • You are technically skilled, ideally with experience in Solar PV or the energy sector;

  • You like working in an environment where it is required to develop processes and you enjoy improving structures;

  • You communicate clearly and proactively with colleagues and external partners;

  • You speak and write German and English fluently;

  • You live within commuting distance of our Dusseldorf or Hamburg office, and are willing to travel across Germany. A driver’s licence is required;

  • You have a customer-first approach and support operational readiness in the development phase of new solar assets;

  • You have the ambition to grow into a Lead Asset Management role and take on broader responsibility within the German Asset Management team.
