Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Support Specialist

Location: Adelphi, MD Required Clearance: Top Secret Certifications: IAM II Level Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field Required Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity and 5 years of A&A experience Description PingWind is seeking a Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Support Specialist assists in the assessment, documentation, and authorization of information systems to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations. This role involves supporting senior staff in evaluating security controls, preparing documentation, and assisting with risk management efforts. Responsibilities Typical Responsibilities/Tasks: · manage eMASS records and A&A artifacts; perform A&A related reporting; and coordinating A&A efforts with responsible parties to execute an effective A&A program. · Lead the A&A process for information systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, FISMA). · Develop, document, and maintain security assessment plans, security control documentation, and risk assessment reports. · Coordinate and conduct security assessments, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. · Work with system owners and IT staff to implement and validate security controls. · Ensure that security controls are properly documented and evidence is maintained. · Monitor the effectiveness of security controls and recommend improvements as needed. · Conduct risk assessments to identify and evaluate security risks.
