Note: This position is under the operating Engineers union. Applicant will be required to join IUOE Local 9

Position Summary

Supervise operational activities to include Asphalt plant production, Asphalt plant maintenance, and mobile equipment in one of our plants.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Responsible for training and development of team, scheduling, performance management, and effective leadership of hourly workforce
  • Successfully lead the Company's safety initiatives
  • Working knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations and possess a strong personal commitment to safety
  • Implement environmental processes and regulations
  • Successfully lead and manage to established production, safety, and environmental objectives and metrics
  • Participate in yearly planning of asphalt plant production, plant maintenance and salary costs to meet budget goals
  • Manage parts and supply inventory
  • Effectively work with vendors and subcontractors planning plant maintenance and repair activities
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2+ years' experience in industry preferred
  • Minimum 1-year supervisory experience in a mining environment preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficient on PC to include MS Office suite
  • Ability to work flexible schedule as required; including nights and weekends
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus

 

We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $38+. Membership with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union No, 9 is required upon hire. Condition and terms of employment and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
