The Artistic Administrative Assistant will provide support during the Fall term to the Artist-in-Residence for their individual choreographic project. This role will assist with performance preparation, artist communications, and promotional efforts.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide general organizational and logistical support for choreographic projects and artistic programming. 
  • Assist with scheduling, coordination, and preparation for Artist-in-Residence (AiR) performances, rehearsals, and related events. 
  • Communicate with participating artists to share schedules, gather information, and address project needs or updates. 
  • Develop and implement a social media strategy to promote AiR activities and highlight artistic processes. 
  • Create, curate, and post social media content for promotional, archival, and engagement purposes.                           
  • Support additional administrative and production tasks as needed, contributing to the overall success of AiR projects and events.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and experience in content creation and scheduling.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and to establish and maintain positive working relationships with supervisors, students, visiting artists, faculty, and staff. 
  • Reliability in maintaining schedules and meeting deadlines. 
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, particularly during performances and events. 

Physical Demands & Working Conditions: 

  • This position involves both desk-based administrative work and light physical activity related to event and performance support. 
  • The employee must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, work at a computer, and occasionally lift or  move materials such as costumes, props, or equipment (up to 25 lbs). 
  • Some evening and weekend hours may be required during performances, rehearsals, or special events. 
  • The work environment includes office settings, studios, and performance spaces. 

Student Employment Eligibility:

Unless restricted by certain visa status, all students with an active status for the semester are eligible for jobs on campus.

Students on leave or withdrawn are not eligible to work in student employment positions until the semester in which they return. If you are currently withdrawn or on leave you are eligible to be employed in staff positions.

Some may be restricted due to financial aid status. International students (non-resident aliens) may not work off campus unless they have applied for and received work authorization from the United States government. (An F-1 visa does not give work authorization.) Off campus work study positions are available only to U.S. citizens on financial aid with a federal work study component.

Student are not eligible to work remotely from International locations.

Hour Limitations:

All student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week in on campus jobs during the academic year (this includes exam periods). The only exception is when there is a full week when school is not in session. Specifically: February recess, Spring recess, and full weeks of December or summer recess. During these time periods only, students can work up to 40 hours per week. International Students: Visa restrictions prohibit international students from exceeding 20 hours of work per academic calendar week.
