As our first Art Outsource Producer here at Build A Rocket Boy, you will specialize in maintaining co-dev relationships. Ideally you will have a proven track record of delivering world-class art for games in a similar position. You will play a key role in maintaining relationships with 3rd party vendors, working with an internal team to develop strategies for delivering high-quality, cost-effective assets. You will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating art assets created by external vendors to ensure they meet the highest quality standards, and align with the artistic vision of our games. Expertise in project management, communication, and art production will be essential in delivering visually stunning and immersive gaming experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with external partners to establish clear communication channels and expectations. Act as the primary point of contact for art-related matters, ensuring a strong working relationship between the internal team and external vendors.
- Artistic Vision: Work closely with the art director, art manager and creative leads to thoroughly understand the game's artistic vision, style, and technical requirements. Ensure that outsourced art assets maintain the desired visual consistency and contribute to the overall artistic direction.
- Project Management: Develop and maintain production schedules, resource plan, milestones, and deliverable timelines for art assets. Monitor project progress and identify potential roadblocks or delays, implementing effective solutions to keep projects on track.
- Communication: Facilitate effective communication between internal teams and external vendors. Clearly convey project goals, asset requirements, feedback, and any changes in direction. Address any concerns, questions, or issues that arise promptly to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for art asset pipelines, processes, and guidelines. Keep records of project-related communication, decisions, and iterations for future reference.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize the art outsourcing workflow, streamline processes, and enhance collaboration. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in art production and outsourcing.
- Outsource Production Report for studio and art department, keep regular update outsource collabration status, sharing risk and visibility to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 2+ Years of experience in a similar position, with at least one shipped title under your belt
- Proven experience in art production, project management, or a related role within the game industry.
- Strong understanding of various art styles, aesthetics, and technical requirements in game development.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide clear and constructive feedback.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, Jira, Shotgrid.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modeling and animation software, and game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine) is a plus.
