Start Date: 3/16/26

Length: 8 months

Hourly Rate: $70

Location: Remote - PST- Must reside in San Francisco, LA, or Vegas

Overview

We're seeking a talented Art Director with 4+ years of experience to support creative brand and tech product work, closely with one of our primary creative vendors. This role is not social-first and not concept-heavy. Instead, it centers on design quality, motion fluency, brand consistency, and contributing to a fast-moving, product-led environment.

This person has 4+ years of experience contributing to art direction and is experienced in working with brands and/or tech companies. You bring a thoughtful point of view to design decisions and can collaborate with internal partners and external vendors effectively. Your portfolio clearly demonstrates this level of craft and execution.

Core Responsibilities

Support Digital Brand Design

  • Support end-to-end digital design execution for product launches, feature releases, and evergreen product moments across web and digital platforms
  • Contribute to a cohesive visual system across static and motion assets
  • Assist with layouts, toolkits, templates, and scalable visual systems that support high-volume output
  • Apply and interpret seasonal style guides ("visual centers") and translate them into polished, on-brand assets
  • Balance hands-on design work with support for senior design leadership

Motion & Digital Fluency

  • Help bring static design systems to life through thoughtful motion, UI animation, and video assets
  • Support motion design direction and provide feedback to vendors and partners
  • Assist in designing responsive, high-fidelity digital experiences (landing pages, microsites, interactive modules)
  • Collaborate with motion designers and contribute to After Effects workflows when needed

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Marketing Managers, Product, Copywriters, and Creative Ops
  • Serve as a creative contributor who can help translate complex or technical briefs into clear design direction
  • Work alongside the Creative Lead to support and maintain the design system in Figma
  • Approach collaboration with a team-first mindset — prioritizing, clarifying, and driving work to completion

Visual Creation

Responsible for the visual creation of print, TV, digital, and collateral material. May or may not supervise others or have direct client contact depending on project needs.

Experience & Background

  • 4+ years of experience in art direction or design roles within creative brands, tech companies, or creative agencies
  • Experience contributing to design decisions for established brands or product ecosystems
  • Portfolio demonstrates strong visual craft, digital product work, and design systems awareness
  • Experience collaborating on work produced by or alongside external vendors or agencies

Design & Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Figma, including components, auto-layout, prototyping, and design systems
  • Web design experience across desktop and mobile, with an understanding of how designs translate to build
  • Solid typography, layout, and color theory skills
  • Familiarity with motion design and After Effects, or the ability to support motion workflows

Working Style & Environment Fit

  • Comfortable contributing in high-speed, high-volume environments with frequent iteration
  • Able to provide timely, quality feedback without over-polishing
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-oriented in approach
  • Manages multiple priorities with clarity and strong attention to detail

Brand & System Thinking

  • Ability to interpret and apply existing brand foundations
  • Experience working within established systems rather than reinventing brands
  • Focused on scalable, business-as-usual creative rather than big campaign concepts
  • Understanding of how design supports product storytelling and business goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting high-profile product launches or always-on product marketing
  • Familiarity with motion vocabulary for UI, product demos, and launch storytelling
  • Experience working closely with product teams in a tech environment
