Working independently or with other commercial team (Sales/Marketing/Service), Application Specialist calls on customers to provide pre & post sales/marketing/service efforts on the instrument/consumables in response to revenue opportunities. This includes presentations, product demonstrations, technical seminars and training for individuals and groups, let alone phone calls.
- Part of the commercial organization which covers reagents, instruments, and consumables from across five business sectors, SP/CS/CA/CC/Imaging of Research area
- This position is responsible for supporting pre- and post-sale, technical application support and provides technical and sales support in the installation, optimization and maintenance to ensure the products are functioning according to specifications, and provide answers to customer inquiries concerning product and/or process specifications
- Must be well versed in the language and technology of Immunology, Cancer and Stem Cell arena etc
- Working with customers in key academic accounts, Hospitals, Biotech, Pharma and research cores to uncover needs and position appropriate MB portfolio
- Provide demo/seminar/training to customers and other responsible commercial representatives Research portfolio especially Imaging portfolio
- Train customers in the proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of basic & Imaging instruments
- Develop and deliver training materials and seminars to enhance user understanding and maximize instrument performance
- Collect and review demo report/complaint issue together with FAS team
- Reporting complaint cases to HQ Global Tech Support and providing appropriate answers to customers/distributors in accordance with HQ guidance
- Provide regular demo status to Application Supervisor
- Provide training to internal colleagues and distributors for updated MB portfolio
- Working with Marketing team to prepare documentation which is for submission to government/industry/academy site
- Participate regular APAC Imaging Meeting to learn Imaging sales and application strategy
- Must be able to travel >50% domestically/overseas
- M.S or above in science fields such as Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Hematology or Medical Imaging. Ph.D preferred
- At least 2-3 years' working experience in Imaging related field or have experience in serving clients and with outstanding performance
- Required in the experience in the application of imaging technologies, such as Ultra Microscopy, Fluorescence Microscopy or Confocal Microscopy etc
- Preferred the experience in the application of flow cytometry
- Business development skills and cross-functional team leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication skills as well as analytical, project management and planning skills necessary
- Knowledge of relevant markets (ie: academic, biotech, pharmaceuticals), assay development programs in big Pharma and immunology workflow
- Requires self-motivation and the ability to work independently
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills at all business levels required
- Proven ability to see new business opportunities, set and meet aggressive objectives, and develop strong working relationships preferred
