Application Engineer - Automotive

As an Application Engineer at RTI you will be responsible for driving RTI’s technology leadership forward across our fastest-growing markets, focusing on Automotive but also collaborating in Aerospace and Defense, MedTech and Robotics.

This Application Engineering role is part of the go-to-market team that identifies and develops growth opportunities, with a focus on combining a background in coding with a visible position learning and leading the future of autonomy. In this position, you’ll help showcase the power of RTI’s Connext product through hands-on demonstrations, partner integrations, and compelling videos. You’ll work directly with RTI’s Technology Partners to grow our ecosystem and explore new technologies that are shaping the future of intelligent systems. ✨ What You’ll Do / Responsibilities

• Build scalable, distributed, resilient, end to end SDV architecture leveraging automotive standards.
• Engage with partner organizations to collaborate on technical content, demos, and promotions -- optimizing engagement and ensuring content visibility.
• Engage with and take a leadership role in understanding and applying automotive standards, both internally and externally.
• Assist in designing and delivering technical demonstrations, Proof-of-Concepts, and new technology evaluations for  RTI Connext DDS, partner software, and new, leading edge technologies.
• Develop content (videos, demos, example, blogs) to support marketing campaigns.
• Support the company vision in cross market initiatives.

🎯 What We’re Looking For / Requirements

• A proven track record of 3+ years of experience in automotive working with standards.
• Experience with some AUTOSAR solutions and tools (e.g., DaVinci & Microsar from Vector, Mobilgene from Autoever, EB Tresos & Autocore from Elektrobit, ISOLAR & RTA from ETAS).
• Familiarity with TCP/IP sockets or messaging protocols.
• Proficient in at least one programming language and you are aware of software patterns in design & conception.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Very strong communication skills and hands on mentality.

💎 Nice To Have / Preferred Skills

• Experience/Active contribution in automotive standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, COVESA, SOAFEE).
• Familiarity with the ROS 2 ecosystem and related robotics use cases.
• Understanding of market trends and technical concepts of safety platforms for autonomous systems in Automotive (ISO-26262) and other markets such as Avionics (DO-178C), Medical (IEC 62304), Industrial (IEC 61508), and Railway (EN 50128 / EN 50716).
• Experience with RTOS and/or deeply embedded system development.
