Application Development Manager - Investment Tech

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of developers building applications for finance, trading, research, and risk.

• Partner with finance, operations, and compliance stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

• Oversee architecture, code quality, and system performance; enforce SDLC best practices.

• Drive modernization initiatives, including microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization.

• Manage delivery roadmaps, priorities, and vendor/third-party integrations.

• Ensure compliance, audit-readiness, and secure coding practices.

• Education: BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Experience:

  • 10+ years in software/application development within financial services.

  • 5+ years in leadership roles managing development teams.

• Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in C#/.NET Core & Framework, JavaScript, and front-end framework React

  • Strong SQL Server background; relational modeling, optimization.

  • Experience with Azure Fabric and Power BI

  • Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD (Git, Jenkins/TeamCity, Octopus) and Agile tools (Jira, Confluence).

  •  Domain Knowledge: Exposure to front-office finance systems, trading tools, mortgage/ABS/MSR workflows 

  • Exposure to platforms like Oracle Fusion / Oracle Financials

• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making ability; able to engage across technical and business teams.
