APAC Intermediate / Senior Full Stack Developer (Taiwan-based, Remote Work)

This role 

Our world-class Product and Engineering teams delivered almost 1,000 new features last year. As one of our pioneering Engineers in our new Taiwan Tech Hub, you'll play a vital role in the continued acceleration of our product strategy. 

We're looking for Backend-focused Intermediate and Senior Full Stack Engineers to help us scale our products and features. This role will help us continue the development and modernising of our core platform (which serves over 300,000 customers) as we continue to expand. You'll be able to learn from our cross-functional, geographically distributed teams and accelerate your career in a fully remote, flexible environment where you’ll work from home.

This is a 100% full WFH remote setup, you will be working in the Taiwan timezones.

Your key focus areas will be

• End-to-end development for new and current cloud-based applications, including working on the technology roadmap with Product Owners, designing solutions with your squad, new feature development, through to production, improving/optimising and maintenance
• Debugging and performing root cause analysis for application issues
• Taking initiative in recommending improvements to the development process
• Proactively identify application pain points and suggest mitigation strategies
• Performing peer reviews of code changes
• Performing testing of new features/enhancements/bug fixes
• Maintaining documentation and help articles for new/updated features
• Providing training sessions for the support team for new features
• Working closely with business stakeholders within an agile environment

Who you are 

To thrive at Employment Hero, you’ll need to embody The EH Way - operating with focus, agility, and an obsession with impact. For this role, you'll have

• Proficiency in React and at least one backend programming language, such as Python, Java, PHP, etc. We'll upskill you in Ruby when you join
• Knowledge of correct design patterns for code and how to transform existing code to implement them 
• Experience in developing software, using microservices or SOA architecture for deployment on public clouds - we use AWS 
• Experience using Agile methodologies and working with Product teams
• Quality coding practices, including test-driven development, unit testing and secure coding awareness
• You’re a team player that always puts colleagues ahead of yourself and has a highly adaptable and versatile approach to work
• You have good verbal and written English skills
