Nubank is looking for a motivated and impact-driven Analytics Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This is a full-time opportunity focused on developing and maintaining analytical data solutions that support decision-making across the company. Our Analytics Engineer team operates at scale, supporting multiple business domains with reliable, high-quality, and well-governed data products.

In this role, you will work on well-defined data initiatives within your team, executing tasks independently while receiving guidance on more complex challenges. The role sits at the intersection of analytics engineering, data modeling, and business context, offering strong opportunities for technical and professional growth.

 

You'll be responsible for

  • Data Projects Execution: contributing to data projects within your team, supporting requirements understanding, data modeling, and delivery with guidance from more experienced engineers.
  • Data Pipelines & Ingestion: developing and maintaining data pipelines and transformations, following established patterns to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Data Platform Contribution: contributing to the maintenance, documentation, and monitoring of our data codebase and tools.
  • ETL / ELT Improvements: assisting in identifying and implementing incremental improvements to scalability, performance, and reliability across ETL/ELT workflows.
  • Business Translation: helping translate business needs into analytical datasets and metrics, asking questions to clarify requirements and expected outcomes.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: working closely with technical and business stakeholders within your domain, communicating progress and incorporating feedback.
  • Knowledge Sharing: documenting solutions and sharing learnings with the team, contributing to data literacy and best practices when needed.

 

We're looking for someone who has

  • Experience working with analytics engineering, data analytics, or similar roles.
  • Good ability to write clear and efficient SQL queries and support data modeling activities.
  • Hands-on experience developing or maintaining data pipelines and transformations.
  • Programming experience with general-purpose languages (e.g. Python, Scala, R).
  • Basic knowledge of data architecture and analytical data structures.
  • Interest in building high-quality, reliable data products.
  • Clear communication skills to collaborate effectively within the team.
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with software engineering best practices (documentation, clean code, basic testing).
  • Exposure to analytical data architectures such as Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, or Data Marts.
  • Basic knowledge of distributed data systems and parallel processing.
  • Ability to translate business concepts into metrics or KPIs with guidance.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • English proficiency suitable for technical collaboration.
