Analyst, Venture Creation
TLDR
Support the creation of new deep-tech ventures by building structured financial models and economic frameworks at the intersection of finance and technology.

Build and maintain bottom-up financial models for new venture concepts, including revenue models, cost structures, and capital requirements

Develop unit economics, pricing strategies, and margin profiles across a range of deep-tech business models

Conduct scenario analyses and sensitivity modeling to evaluate risk, upside, and capital efficiency
-
Translate technical milestones into financial implications (cost to scale, time to commercialization, capital intensity)

Support investment decisions through clear, data-driven financial outputs and structured analysis
-
Support synthesis of market dynamics into quantifiable inputs for financial models
-
Identify commercialization pathways and map them to revenue timing and scaling assumptions

Engage potential customers to validate willingness to pay and demand drivers, feeding into model assumptions

Analyze competitive landscapes through an economic lens (cost position, pricing power, defensibility)

Partner with Founders-in-Residence and studio leadership to translate ideas into financially viable businesses

Contribute to business cases and investment memos grounded in rigorous financial logic

Support development of go-to-market strategies informed by unit economics and capital efficiency

Assist in building pitch decks and fundraising materials, with a focus on financial clarity

Help build and refine repeatable financial modeling frameworks for venture creation

Support development of assumptions libraries, benchmarks, and modeling best practices

Coordinate with product, engineering, and finance teams to ensure alignment between technical development and financial outcomes

Provide structured economic analysis to support internal decision-making

1–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or management consulting
-
Strong foundation in financial modeling (Excel or equivalent) and comfort building models from scratch
-
Ability to translate complex or technical inputs into clear economic frameworks
-
Experience working with imperfect or early-stage data, forming assumptions from first principles
-
Technical background (engineering, physics, math, computer science, or similar) preferred
-
Strong communication skills—able to clearly explain financial concepts
-
High intellectual curiosity and comfort in fast-moving, ambiguous environments

Must be based in or willing to relocate to Albuquerque, New Mexico
