You’ll play a key role in driving meaningful change, while building foundational expertise in a rapidly evolving field. This is a role for an early-career professional focused on high-quality analytical and project delivery support. The Analyst will work across both sustainability and clean energy engagements, contributing to internal workstreams and client deliverables. The role offers the opportunity to work on impactful consulting projects across various areas, primarily focused on behind-the-scenes work; however, there will be opportunities to participate in client meetings to build consulting skills and subject matter fluency. Scope includes a range of projects across sustainability strategy, greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory development, decarbonization and net-zero planning, supply chain decarbonization, renewable energy procurement, market research, and compliance with evolving disclosure frameworks. Analysts will regularly use Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI to support client deliverables and internal collaboration. This is a Remote position with preference for candidates in either Boston, MA or Columbus/Dublin, OH. This role requires the ability to work standard business hours within the Eastern Time Zone (ET)  to support cross-regional collaboration. Responsibilities
  • Support client engagements with a focus on sustainability and decarbonization strategy development, including net-zero goals and Science Based Targets (SBTi), climate transition plans, and renewable energy strategies. 
  • Support technical advisory to clients, including through the development of greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories (scopes 1, 2, and 3), Inventory Management Plans, climate scenario modeling, and other relevant topics.
  • Support supply chain decarbonization initiatives, including data analysis, supplier engagement and communications, and program development to address Scope 3 emissions.
  • Support sustainability compliance readiness, including performing ESG materiality assessments, and climate risk and opportunity assessments.
  • Support advisory and procurement services for renewable energy and carbon procurement, including VPPAs, green tariffs, onsite solar, and energy attribute certificates (EACs).
  • Conduct market fundamentals and policy research to inform strategy development.
  • Create compelling, client-ready PowerPoint deliverables and Excel-based models and tools.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes, and contribute to Trio thought leadership via proposals, whitepapers, or internal tools. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, clients, and global colleagues to support project delivery and knowledge-sharing.
  • Desired Background
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the sustainability or clean energy field with a clear trajectory of increasing ownership over tasks and deliverables; consultancy / professional services experience preferred. 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Sustainability, Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics, Environmental Science, or related field; Master’s degree a plus.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and practical application or project contribution in two or more of the following areas: sustainability program development, GHG inventory accounting (GHG Protocol), decarbonization strategy, sustainability goal setting (SBTi, Net Zero, and others), stakeholder engagement, climate adaptation and risk, renewable energy, environmental reporting, and climate-related disclosures and leading global and regional reporting frameworks.
  • Experience working with complex data and leveraging Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, and other programs to manage and analyze large datasets.
  • Experience using enterprise sustainability software platforms, i.e. loading data, generating calculated emissions, producing visualizations and reports, etc.
