This role is based in our office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As an Analyst, you will report to the Associate Director.


As an Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting Catalyst’s Investor Services team, working alongside colleagues in various departments to provide high-quality service to clients. You will assist in supporting the full lifecycle of investor transactions, from onboarding and compliance to wire payments support, reporting, and help resolve client queries. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong process orientation, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Your Daily Tasks

The following are the tasks linked to the Core Responsibilities that will be expected as part of this role:   



1. Investor Onboarding: 

Includes (but not limited to) the following tasks: 

a) Ensure all required forms are completed and signed off in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

b) Create and input new investors into the RTA systems, following the guidelines stipulated in the Step-by-Step manual, making sure all relevant information is registered. 

c) Identify any gaps or deficiencies in documentation and proactively communicate with the team to resolve them. Work with the KYC Teams to notify clients of any issues that could delay investor redemptions or distributions.


2. Investor Transaction Processing & Reporting  

Includes (but are not limited to) the following tasks: 

a) Input investor transactions into RTA systems, ensuring all transactions are accurately captured and recorded. 

b) Review investor trade documents for completeness and verify that all necessary information has been provided. Follow up with clients and investors to resolve any issues or missing information promptly. 

c) Prepare and generate investor statements for internal review, ensuring statements align with internal records and regulatory requirements. 

d) Prepare and submit wire payments to treasury for processing, adhering to Catalyst’s payment and call-back procedures. 

e) Ensure all investor-related reporting is completed on time and meets the required service level agreements (SLAs) set by the client. 

f) Ensure thorough and accurate documentation of all new investors, transactions, communications, and approvals within the internal online environment. Adhere to established naming conventions and utilize provided checklists to maintain consistency and compliance with internal processes. 

 

3. Client Relationship & Query Management: 

Includes (but are not limited to) the following tasks: 

a) Assist with investor queries and ensure a high level of service delivery. With guidance, respond to investor queries about their transactions, statements, or any issues they may encounter. 

b) Monitor the different channels of communication including, but not limited to, Teams, Investor Services inbox, Client distribution emails, and Core requests. 

c) Monitor the Customer Requests dashboard for pending items and action as needed. 

 

4. Collaboration with Fund Accounting & Middle Office Teams: 

Includes (but are not limited to) the following tasks: 

a) Work alongside the accounting team to ensure timely reconciliation of investor activity.

b) Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of fund-related activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of capital calls, fund distributions, and transaction bookings in alignment with the fund’s NAV cycle. 

 

5. Risk and Compliance Responsibilities (AML/KYC, FATCA/CRS): 

Includes (but are not limited to) the following tasks: 

a) Review incoming investor wire payments and ensure that any third-party or suspicious wires are flagged to Compliance for review and approval. 

b) Assist the Corporate Middle Office with the collection of FATCA/CRS and AEOI documentation in alignment with global regulatory requirements. 

c) Maintain organized records of investor-related compliance documents and reports.

Required Skills & Experience 

Are you excited? We are! Before we get too carried away, there are a few requirements you’ll need to check off before you can apply for the position:  

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. 
  • A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in the Fund Administration industry, particularly in investor services, investor transaction processing, including redemptions, subscriptions, transfers, and distributions and regulatory compliance. 
  • Knowledge of Cayman Island Monetary Authority (CIMA) regulations and the most common fund structures.  
  • Knowledge of Delaware fund structures. 
  • Knowledge of Cayman Islands AML/KYC procedures and operational compliance. Understanding of FATCA/CRS and AEOI regulations is essential. 
  • High proficiency in using Office 365, especially Excel, Word, and Teams. Experience with investor management systems, client portals, or other fund administration software is a plus. 
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on process optimization. Ability to identify bottlenecks and suggest improvements to workflows. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

While not required, the following skills and experience would be an excellent addition to your profile:  

  • High proficiency in both spoken and written Portuguese, with the ability to communicate effectively with Portuguese-speaking clients (particularly from Brazil). 
  • High proficiency in both spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate effectively with English-speaking clients (particularly from the US). 
  • Understanding of Master-Feeder structures, particularly involving Brazilian local funds and offshore vehicles, including the specific considerations related to transactions involving FX contracts.
