Position Summary
The Analyst will support the Executive Director, Education Technology Innovation and Director, Digital Education and Patient Experience with the alignment of UHN’s digital strategy and organizational priorities in education and patient care. The Analyst will be responsible for supporting strategic planning, capital roadmap development, demand management, and key areas of focus on technology needs for learners and patients.
Duties
Strategic Planning:
- Following the Digital Demand Management Process, support management of the end-to-end In-Year Demand Management work stream for the Digital Education and Patient Experience Portfolios
- Working with the Director, Education Technology Innovation and Directoin, Digital Education and Patient Experience, the Analyst will collaborate closely with leadership across Education, Patient Experience, and Technology & Innovation, to ensures successful business outcomes and digital advancement, including initiatives like myUHN. The Analyst will also support key initiatives in units such as Digital Education and Education Technology and Media Services (ETMS) as required.
- Supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives aligned with UHN standards, while regularly monitoring outcomes and surfacing identified issues and risks
Stakeholder Management:
- Support the build and maintenance of relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including ongoing communication and support throughout the lifecycle of digital projects and initiatives
- Coordinating and meeting with UHN-wide business groups, working groups and organizational committees (Digital & business), to understand and shape priorities, while collaborating with technical subject matters experts, procurement, privacy and security teams to support demand assessments
Business Analysis:
- Working with various business units to elicit and document high-level business requirements for the purposes of conducting intake, assessment, prioritization, and tracking of Digital demands and/or other projects and initiatives as required
- Support the alignment of projects and initiatives with business cases, KPIs, and strategic priorities to support on-going program planning and operational maintenance
- Support leading business case development efforts as required through educational services and innovations, including the support of contract negotiations, financial tracking, and development of proposals that support education, research, and innovation
Project Management:
- Supporting ongoing maintenance of demands, initiatives and projects, prioritization models, risk-value model, program evaluations, and quarterly review and assessment cycles
- Leading simple to moderately complex projects or project components of small to medium scope
- Coordinates and facilitate meetings, working groups, and organizational committees, as needed
- Developing presentation materials for senior leaders and executive leadership bodies within and outside of UHN Digital, as needed
- Conduct analytics, program evaluations, and create visualization to support data driven decision making for strategic program planning
- Other duties as assigned to support strategic planning for the Digital Education and Patient Experience Portfolio
- Undergraduate Degree required in Health Informatics, Health Administration, Business Analysis or related field with minimum 2 - 3 years industry experience, or more; Master’s Degree preferred
- Sound knowledge and understanding of project, program and portfolio management (planning, implementation, evaluation, risk assessment, benefits realization)
- Experience in requirements gathering, business analysis and/or problem resolution
- Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organization, analytical, interpersonal, and prioritization skills,
- Experience with hardware and/or software vendor relations
- Well-developed ability to evaluate situations and be able to make judgment calls on complex situations such as timeliness of escalating an issue
- Experience with workflow analysis, system testing and project schedules
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well in an in-person or a remote team environment
- Demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience working with ServiceNow and/or Microsoft BI (or equivalent), SharePoint would be an asset
