RC Mowers  |  We're Hiring

Autonomous Product Specialist

Full-Time  ·  Remote / Field-Based  ·  Heavy Travel

THE SHORT VERSION

You’re the person who puts our autonomous mowers in front of skeptical customers—and turns them into believers.

RC Mowers builds autonomous commercial mowing robots (AMR) and remote-controlled slope mowers that are replacing manual labor on the most dangerous, expensive, and miserable jobs in the landscape industry. Retention ponds. Highway medians. 50-degree slopes. Places where nobody wants to send a crew—and increasingly, places where there isn’t a crew to send.

We need someone who can own the AMR product in the field. Not just demo it—champion it. You’ll be the bridge between cutting-edge autonomous technology and real-world customers who need to see it work before they believe it. You’ll travel with our sales team, run demonstrations, support deployments, and be the person customers call when they need a straight answer about what this machine can and can’t do.

WHAT THE JOB ACTUALLY IS

This isn’t a desk job with occasional travel. You’ll be in the field most of the time—pulling trailers, setting up demos, getting machines running on customer sites, and solving problems on the fly. Here’s what a typical month looks like:

  • Travel to customer sites with Regional Sales Managers to demo AMR products. You bring the product depth; they bring the relationship.
  • Scout and prep demo sites ahead of time. When a customer sees an AMR run for the first time, that moment matters — and you're the one who makes sure it lands.
  • Transport, set up, operate, and tear down demo equipment. Trucks, trailers, mowers—you’re comfortable with all of it.
  • Support new customer deployments: installation, setup, training, and hand-holding through early adoption until they’re confident and independent.
  • Be the voice of the field back to our Product and Engineering teams. What’s working, what’s not, what customers are actually asking for versus what we think they’re asking for.
  • Keep CRM records tight. If it didn’t get logged, it didn’t happen.
  • Maintain demo equipment to a standard that says “we take this seriously.”

YOU’RE THE RIGHT FIT IF

  • You’ve worked in or around the landscape, turf, or outdoor power equipment industry and you understand the world our customers live in.
  • You can explain complex technology to someone who doesn’t care how it works—they care that it works.
  • You’ve pulled a trailer to a job site before sunrise and you didn’t need a checklist to remember the tie-downs.
  • You can work independently for days at a time, manage your own schedule, and still keep the team in the loop.
  • You’re equal parts mechanical aptitude and customer presence. Comfortable under a machine and in front of a room.
  • You take ownership. When something goes wrong in the field, you fix it first and debrief later.
  • Frequent travel doesn’t burn you out—it energizes you.

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience with robotics, autonomous systems, GPS-guided equipment, or anything that drives itself.
  • Background in a field-based product support, application specialist, or technical sales role.
  • You’ve supported dealer networks or distributors.
  • You know your way around a CRM and don’t treat it like a chore.
  • Degree or heavy training in Engineering, Robotics, Turf Management, Ag Systems, or Business—but honestly, relevant field experience matters more.

LOCATION

This role is remote and field-based. We have a preference for candidates in Texas (Dallas or Houston) or Florida (Orlando) to cover key territories, but the right person matters more than the zip code. You’ll report to the Autonomous Operations Director.

WHY THIS JOB

The labor crisis in landscape and public works isn’t theoretical—it’s here. Municipalities can’t hire fast enough. Crews are aging out. The work is dangerous and nobody’s lining up to do it. We’re building the machines that solve that problem, and you’d be the person putting them to work.

This is a ground-floor role on a product line that’s about to scale. You won’t be a cog—you’ll have direct influence on how we bring autonomous mowing to market. We move fast, we don’t hide behind bureaucracy, and we build things that customers actually need.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Compensation commensurate with experience. Benefits include:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid vacation and sick leave
  • Disability, life, and accident insurance
