Contribute to RWWA's uplift in AML and CTF capability by providing expert advice and improving compliance practices across the organization.

We are Growing Our AML Team

Due to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) reforms coming into effect at the end of March 2026, we are expanding our AML capability to strengthen compliance and risk management. This is an exciting time to join us as we uplift our program.

As such, we are seeking an analytical, compliance-minded AML Advisor to join our Legal, Governance and Risk division. Reporting to the AML Governance Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to RWWA’s ongoing uplift in AML and CTF capability and compliance maturity.

About the Role

Operating within the second line of defence, the AML Advisor will provide expert advice, oversight and challenge to the business to ensure effective implementation of AML/CTF obligations and risk management practices. You will work closely with business units to design, monitor, and continuously improve AML/CTF controls, while ensuring alignment with AUSTRAC expectations and industry best practice.

This role is ideal for a compliance professional who thrives in an environment that combines technical rigour, investigative thinking, and collaboration to drive continuous improvement in financial crime governance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide proactive AML/CTF advice and guidance to business units on compliance obligations, emerging risks, and control design.
  • Conduct reviews of high-risk or escalated cases (e.g. PEPs, sanctions, adverse media) and provide direction on appropriate actions.
  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of AML/CTF control frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Participate in AML/CTF risk assessments and contribute to the development of monitoring and testing programs.
  • Review and evaluate the effectiveness of AML controls, identifying opportunities for enhancement or remediation.
  • Assist in the coordination of responses to audit findings, regulatory inquiries, and assurance reviews.
  • Prepare and deliver AML/CTF training and awareness sessions to promote a strong compliance culture.
  • Monitor emerging regulatory developments and typologies, ensuring RWWA’s frameworks remain current and effective.

About You

You are a motivated compliance professional who combines technical AML/CTF expertise with a practical understanding of governance and control frameworks. You bring a detail-oriented mindset, strong analytical capability, and a passion for continuous improvement within the financial crime compliance discipline.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong understanding of AML/CTF legislation, regulatory obligations, and risk management frameworks.
  • Experience in compliance, governance, or risk oversight roles within a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to review, test and assess control effectiveness.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline (ACAMS or equivalent certification highly regarded).
  • Collaborative approach with a commitment to integrity, discretion, and professional excellence.
