ABOUT THE TEAM

We are a results-driven group dedicated to delivering high-impact, market-relevant programs, including our Executive MBA and Executive Education portfolio. Our mission is to equip Africa's current and aspiring leaders with the skills to drive change in the world of business as well as in the public sector. We are a collaborative and dynamic team, focused on operational excellence, innovation, and strategic alignment to ensure every program we deliver is a best-in-class experience that contributes to ALUSB's reputation and financial sustainability. 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

In-Person Session Support:

  • Assist faculty during in-person sessions, including managing group activities and assignments
  • Distribution Collaborate with the Senior Instructional Designer to ensure access to and of slides, session plans, and other instructional materials.
  • Provide hands-on support during practical activities, ensuring smooth execution and understanding of tasks by students.
  • Oversee the logistical setup for faculty, including audiovisual needs, equipment, and room arrangements.

Canvas Support:

  • Assist students with accessing course content, assignments, and announcements on Canvas.
  • Support both faculty and students in navigating discussion forums, submission portals, and feedback areas within Canvas.
  • Support faculty with posting announcements and ensuring effective communication.
  • Ensure faculty are familiar with using Canvas for grading, and rubric application.
  • Troubleshoot and manage student queries related to Canvas, including access issues and assignment submissions.
  • Monitor the Canvas course page to ensure all resources are up-to-date and accessible for students.
  • Collaborate with the Instructional Technologist and Senior Instructional Designer to address any Canvas-related technical issues.

General Administrative Support:

  • Respond to student inquiries about course logistics and content in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an organised system for sharing course materials and updates with students.
  • Support faculty with other tasks related to course delivery, as needed.
  • Support students and faculty follow up with the equivalence process.
  • Organize the academic files and meetings

Ensure the safety and well-being of all young persons and vulnerable adults with whom we deal,  by adhering to ALU’s comprehensive safeguarding policy, maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to any violations of safeguarding standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in Higher Learning Institutions.
  • Demonstrable capabilities in the use of Canvas or similar Learning Management Systems (LMS) and live virtual technology platforms, such as Google Meet or Zoom.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work well with faculty and students.
  • Excellent Technological Skills with creativity
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced academic environment.
  • Experience in facilitating group sessions or group activities in educational environments.

Location: Kigali, Rwanda and the ability to travel periodically.
