AI Process Automation Engineer

TLDR

Contribute to foundational AI-native architecture by building agentic solutions that automate core business functions and insights to enhance efficiency across departments.

About Fuel Cycle:

Fuel Cycle is the Autonomous Insights Platform trusted by some of the world's most iconic brands — including Sonos, Carhartt, Petco, Glassdoor, Thomson Reuters, and Abercrombie & Fitch. Headquartered in Los Angeles (Wilshire Blvd) with offices in New York, we are a 125-person team on a mission to accelerate decision intelligence: turning customer research into confident business action in hours, not weeks.

Our platform unifies quantitative, qualitative, and UX research into a single AI-native system — delivering 85% faster time-to-insight, 10x cost savings per study, and 150x ROI versus traditional research vendors. Agentic AI runs studies end-to-end, so insight teams spend their time on judgment and strategy rather than production and logistics.

This role exists because we are living what we sell. Our leadership team made a deliberate decision to go all-in on Claude and agentic AI — not just in our product, but across every internal function. Our Marketing team has already deployed five production Claude Code agents (competitive intelligence, sales call synthesis, feature launch automation, and more), saving 10–17 hours of manual work per week with a three-person team. Sales, Research, Community, and Panels are next. The difference between being AI-enabled and AI-native is the entire bet, and this hire is part of closing that gap.

We are building a shared system of memory, skills, and agents that the whole company runs on — not a collection of individual setups. The person in this role will be a foundational contributor to that architecture, working directly alongside our Founder/Chairman, Product, Engineering, and cross-functional operations leads to make Fuel Cycle AI-native from the inside out.

Our values: Customer Obsessed. Team Before Self. Extreme Impact. Endless Curiosity.

Why work at Fuel Cycle?

Join a high-growth team where curiosity is valued, ownership is encouraged, and your work drives real-world impact. Whether you’re based at our Los Angeles HQ, New York City hub, working remotely across the U.S., or part of our global team in India, you’ll help shape the future of decision intelligence for some of the world’s most iconic brands.

Overview:

Fuel Cycle's leadership has made a clear, urgent bet: the difference between being AI-enabled and AI-native is the entire game. We are looking for a sharp, curious, and technically motivated recent graduate to help us win it — as an AI Process Automation Engineer writing Claude Code to agentify how Fuel Cycle operates from the inside out.

This is not a greenfield exploration role. Our Marketing team has already deployed five production Claude Code agents — automating competitive intelligence, Gong call synthesis, feature launch campaigns, and GTM release workflows — saving 10–17 hours of manual work per week with a three-person team. The architecture is built to scale. Research delivery, Community, Panels, Sales, and Finance are next. You will be the dedicated builder expanding that system across the organization.

You will work directly alongside our Founder/Chairman, Product & Engineering teams and the cross-functional leads who are driving this initiative — translating business process challenges into robust, production-grade agentic solutions built on a shared foundation of memory, skills, and reusable Claude Code agents.

Location: Los Angeles

Work Arrangement: This is a fully onsite role requiring five days per week in our Brentwood office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expand and maintain the existing suite of Claude Code agents — starting with the Marketing agents already in production (competitive intelligence, Gong synthesis, GTM automation) and extending the model into Research delivery, Community operations, Panels, Sales, and Finance.

  • Partner with department heads and operations leads across Fuel Cycle to map high-volume manual processes — in both our research and community services operation and our internal functions — and design agentic replacements.

  • Build and test multi-step agentic pipelines that integrate Claude with Fuel Cycle's existing tool stack, including Asana, Gong, and third-party APIs, using the shared knowledge base architecture already in place.

  • Contribute to the shared system of memory, skills, and agents the whole team runs on — ensuring every agent reads from consistent brand voice, ICP profiles, and process documentation so outputs are accurate and on-standard without manual prompt engineering per task.

  • Monitor deployed automations for accuracy, performance, and edge-case failures; produce a playbook for each agent shipped so other teams can understand, replicate, and build on the model.

  • Stay current on the Claude API, Claude Code releases, and agentic design patterns — proactively surfacing improvements and bringing new capabilities to the attention of product and engineering leads.

  • Work with the AI transformation leads to push automation knowledge out through the organization and help teams move fast on their own functions.

Your Success Metrics:

  • Automation Impact: Measurable reduction in manual work hours across deployed agents, benchmarked against pre-automation baselines.

  • Agent Velocity: Consistent delivery of production-grade agents on a quarterly cadence, spanning Sales, Research, Community, Panels, and Finance within the first year.

  • Reliability & Documentation: All deployed agents maintain low error/failure rates in production and are accompanied by a reusable playbook enabling other teams to build on the work.

  • Architectural Contribution: Active contribution to the shared memory, skills, and agent library — measured by reuse of components across agents and reduction in per-task prompt engineering overhead.
