This is a new managerial role that has been created to help us scale how we use Machine Learning and AI to optimise decisioning and improve our customer experiences. The role sits within the Telegraph’s MarTech team, where alongside our data engineering and science teams, we have successfully delivered projects using AI and ML for over 7 years.
We’re looking for someone who is keen to own our implementations with internal models and external vendors, evolving these while advising on the best practice for new solutions to tackle increasingly diverse business problems. The successful candidate would have experience in creating business centric and scalable data solutions. Working in a collaborative manner to iterate on these implementations to improve data collection, prep, operations and modelling would all help illustrate that you could thrive in this innovation focused role.
This role will manage a couple of AI focused data engineers and work closely with a cross functional team of data scientists, API engineers, analysts and other implementation experts. Given this, communications skills, empathy and stakeholder management will be vital to success in the role. We would also expect a level of competency on data engineering and data concepts to help upskill and guide your team.
We use the Google AI suite so some experience with Google data products and a willingness to learn about Vertex and PaLM is something that we’re keen on. Given this is a fast changing area of technology and a new function we’re also committed to providing high levels of support for individual upskilling from both a technical and non-technical viewpoint. The most important attribute therefore is a willingness to learn new things, think creatively and foster success of those around you through collaboration.
