As a Junior Digital PR Associate, you’ll work at the intersection of SEO, PR, brand storytelling, and emerging AI-powered tools. You’ll help promote impactful content that connects with audiences, using data and search insights to support smart, effective execution.
You’ll build and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, and industry experts to help amplify our content and grow brand visibility. You’ll support the promotion process, including campaign ideation, outreach, distribution, and performance analysis, learning to optimize campaigns based on real-time insights.
A successful Junior Digital PR Associate is curious, detail-oriented, and excited to learn the fundamentals of SEO and digital PR. You’re a strong writer with a knack for telling compelling stories from data, able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and eager to explore how tools like AI can support research, ideation, and outreach.

Digital PR Strategy & Execution
- Support the planning and execution of digital PR campaigns that drive media coverage, referral traffic, social engagement, and brand awareness for ConsumerAffairs.
- Stay tapped into trends across news, pop culture, and digital marketing to help inspire timely, relevant campaign ideas.
- Write compelling, tailored pitches that capture journalists’ attention and help earn high-quality media coverage across top-tier and niche outlets.
- Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, including journalists, editors, and influencers, while keeping outreach organized and up to date.
- Support media interview preparation for TV, radio, and digital outlets, including briefing materials, talking points, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Monitor competitor activity and flag relevant trends, media moments, and industry opportunities for the broader team.
- Collaborate across teams to brainstorm creative content ideas and support initiatives that grow ConsumerAffairs’ authority and visibility.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications & Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of hands-on experience in digital PR, media relations, content marketing, SEO, or a related area is a plus. Internships, academic projects, freelance work, or relevant coursework are all welcome.
- Foundational understanding of SEO principles, including how content, backlinks, and authority contribute to organic growth.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with a creative approach to crafting compelling pitches and campaign messaging.
- Able to self-edit for spelling, grammar, clarity, and accuracy before submitting work.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with data at a basic level and interested in learning how to measure and report on campaign performance.
- Self-motivated, curious, and open to feedback, with a strong desire to grow in a digital PR role.
Hard/Technical Skills
- Exposure to media outreach or PR tools such as Muck Rack, BuzzStream, Prowly, or Cision through internships, projects, or training.
- Introductory experience with SEO or research tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, or Google Search Console.
- Comfortable using AI-powered tools to support research, ideation, personalization, and efficiency, while applying human judgment, accuracy checks, and editorial standards.
- Familiarity with AP Style and the ability to write accurate, polished copy for outreach.
- Comfortable using spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) to organize information and track outreach; experience with basic formulas, sorting, and filtering is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and collaboration tools like Slack, Airtable, or Trello.
