Mission Focus: As Systems Engineer will have the unique opportunity to strategically advise clients in their daily operations and long-term planning, solve nascent problems with emerging technology, and help turn complex concepts into reality. You will embed with the client organization and focus on enhancing the AI / ML systems supporting the operations and missions.

Clearance: Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

Location/Flexibility: Work will be conducted at a combination of client site in Chantilly, VA and Prime Contractor offices near the client site. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and apply systems engineering products and analyses to support requirement development, acquisition, deployment, and sustainment of AI/ML capabilities.
  • Requirement management activities with respect to Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Develop technical and strategic plans highlighting delivery schedules, key developments, and other milestones as directed by the client.
  • Understand validation & verification processes to ensure compliant delivery and management of technology developments.
  • Monitor configuration changes and processes through appropriate risk management practices and reporting.
  • Develop AI/ML transition plans with supporting operational metrics for the enterprise and downstream stakeholders.
  • Assist in the design and development of AI algorithms within the constructs of the desired deployment modalities, e.g. Cloud Compute or Hybrid Cloud-Edge.
  • Actively manage and engage with internal stakeholders for the achievement of milestones and goals as outlined within the strategic footprint and adopted road maps in terms of managing acquisitions and contracting.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Business IT, or related System Engineering required. Masters Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Candidates ideally possess 3+ years of SETA or SETA-equivalent experience. Intelligence Community experience preferred but not required. Strategic consulting experience also preferred but not required.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional ideal, would like to have some of SAFe or other Agile certification; AWS Cloud Architect; AWS Machine Learning; or equivalent.
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI
  • Strategic perspectives of advising teams on AI / ML workflow development and deployment into operational settings over long-term timeframes.
  • Understanding of methods behind user story and requirement collection and capability refinement as part of the Agile cycles.
  • Understanding of technology and strategic roadmaps and planning cycles with high levels of autonomy, agency, and product creation. Product examples include, but are not limited to PowerPoint, Excel, Vizio, and similar suites of professional Office software suites.
  • Understanding of strategic and organizational risk frameworks, including fundamentals of risk management, managing risk products, and communicating with cross-functional teams regarding risk reduction.
  • Experience in change management / change control, including testing, verification, and validation.
  • Understanding of research lifecycles and collaborating with Government stakeholders on managing active research projects, research teams, and facilitating supporting financial needs.
  • Understanding of data management and records control for effective knowledge transfer and management.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times.
