Role Overview:
** This is a 12 month in-office program designed for those who have recently completed a bachelor’s degree or are looking to start their professional journey, and placement after program is not guaranteed. You must be based in the Denver area, or able to relocate to Denver, and will be in office 4 days per week **
As a Software Engineer (AI Team), you are part of a cohort defining the next generation of development at HCP. This role is not just about writing code; it is about mastering AI-augmented engineering. You spend 12 months working in-office alongside senior mentors, building production-level features for our Pros while learning to leverage AI tools to write cleaner code, automate testing, and solve complex full-stack challenges faster than traditional methods allow. You ship high-quality features using modern AI-augmented tools (i.e. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Large Language Model APIs) and measure success not only by what you ship, but by how effectively you partner with AI to accelerate learning, increase iteration speed, and raise the quality bar across engineering.
You bring a builder’s mindset and a bias toward action. You act as a Full Stack Engineer, designing, prototyping, and shipping meaningful product improvements while continuously refining the human-AI development loop. You use AI-assisted tooling to explore alternative approaches, generate tests, refactor confidently, and improve long-term maintainability; while setting clear expectations for thoughtful and responsible use of AI in modern product development. You remain curious about emerging tools and model practical, responsible, high-impact AI-native engineering behaviors that influence how the broader engineering organization evolves.
This is a 12-month, in-office program for individuals who have recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or who are beginning their professional engineering journey. Placement after the program is not guaranteed. You must be based in the Denver area or willing to relocate and work in the office four days per week.
