AI Engineer Intern

To thrive in this role, we’re seeking candidates with a strong academic background and hands‑on experience through pet projects, university work, hackathons, Kaggle, or research, coupled with a solid foundation in Python, ML basics, algorithms, and engineering tools. 

About the project: This internship gives you hands‑on experience working on real AI/ML tasks in a live engineering environment. You will help build and refine ML pipelines, prepare data, run experiments, and evaluate models under the guidance of a mentor. The work includes creating small prototypes, integrating models into simple internal tools, and documenting results. You’ll gain practical exposure to applied AI development and gradually take ownership of small but meaningful components as you learn. Upon successful completion of the internship, there is an opportunity to receive a permanent position within the company. 

Requirements:  

• Strong Python programming skills (required)
• Basic OOP, clean code habits
• Good understanding of data structures & algorithms
• ML fundamentals: supervised learning, train/val/test splits, metrics, overfitting
• Familiarity with PyTorch
• Experience with Git, Linux/CLI, virtual environments
• Data skills: pandas, NumPy, preprocessing 

Nice‑to‑have: 

• Experience with LLMs, Transformers, embeddings, vector DBs (RAG)
• Basic backend/API development (FastAPI/Flask)
• Docker
• Cloud basics (AWS/GCP/Azure) 

 
Responsibilities:

• Implement and improve AI/ML features under mentor guidance
• Run experiments, track results, compare approaches
• Perform model evaluation and propose improvements
• Work on data tasks (cleaning, preprocessing, dataset creation, labeling support)
• Build supporting components (scripts/services)
• Integrate models into simple APIs or internal tools
• Document findings and maintain reproducible code
• Deliver prototypes, experiment reports, feature increments, and clean PRs 

Team: You will be working directly with a mentor and collaborating with an experienced engineering team. Regular syncs: 2–3 times per week (standup/demo/check‑in); rest async. 

Schedule: 6+ hours/day, preferred overlap: 3–5 hours with EET/EEST (UTC+2 / UTC+3). Internship duration: 2+ months, extendable based on performance
