About DevRev
At DevRev, we're building the future of work with Computer – your AI teammate. Unlike traditional tools, Computer unifies all your data sources, tools, and workflows into a single AI-ready platform, giving employees real-time insights, proactive suggestions, and powerful agentic actions. It extends your existing software with AI-native apps and agents that work alongside your teams and customers – updating workflows, coordinating across teams, and eliminating repetitive work. We call this Team Intelligence: human-AI collaboration that breaks down silos, brings people back together, and frees you to solve bigger problems. Backed by Khosla Ventures and Mayfield with $150M+ raised, DevRev is trusted by global companies across industries.
We are looking for a AI Engineer with hands-on experience building AI-powered platforms, particularly systems that support chatbots, agent-driven workflows, and streaming LLM experiences & have deep expertise in building and scaling test automation frameworks using the Playwright framework.
The ideal candidate has experience defining and driving QA automation strategy across large test suites, implementing clean design principles, improving code quality and advocating for coding best practices across the team.
You will be instrumental in establishing a scalable, maintainable, and robust test automation ecosystem. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution, serving as a technical leader and mentor to the QA automation team. In this role, you will leverage AI and test automation to enhance and expedite our testing processes, govern and evolve our test frameworks, and develop a comprehensive monitoring and alerting system. Your expertise will ensure the robustness, efficiency, and reliability of our software delivery pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
AI-Driven Test Automation
- Actively use AI and intelligent agents to accelerate test generation, test maintenance, and coverage expansion.
- Leverage LLMs to convert requirements, user stories, and production incidents into high-quality automated test cases.
- Reduce reliance on manual test case creation by introducing AI-assisted automation workflows, with human review and ownership.
- Apply AI to optimize test selection, prioritization, and execution based on risk, code changes, and historical failures.
- Test Case Design and Documentation
- Use AI to assist in identifying missing scenarios, edge cases, and negative paths from requirements and user behavior.
- Maintain strong traceability between product features, test cases, and automated coverage, with AI support for documentation updates and gap analysis.
Test Suite Development & Maintenance
- Build AI solutions to enable growth and drive internal efficiency across the business.
- Design and implement robust API and system architecture for new AI applications.
- Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team to bring these AI solutions to life.
- Embrace the challenges of a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a focus on innovation.
- Establish coding standards, branching strategies, and review guidelines for QA automation code.
- Integrate test execution into CI/CD pipelines with fast feedback loops and real-time reporting.
- Evaluate and integrate AI-powered tools for test generation, flakiness detection, self-healing tests, and intelligent exploratory testing (for example Testim, Mabl, Diffblue, or custom LLM-based solutions).
- Build or extend internal AI copilots to assist with test creation, debugging failures, and analyzing logs and traces.
- Champion shift-left testing by working closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to prevent defects early.
Quality Ownership and Continuous Improvement
- Own the health and evolution of the automation framework.
- Analyze test failures, flaky behavior, and production escapes using AI-assisted root cause analysis.
- Continuously improve testing strategies based on learnings from releases, incidents, and customer impact.
- Promote a strong quality mindset where AI is used as a force multiplier, not a shortcut.
Test Reporting and Analytics
- Design clear and actionable test reports that highlight coverage, risk, and failure patterns.
- Use AI-driven analytics to identify trends, predict risk areas, and guide test investment.
- Implement intelligent alerting so failures are automatically routed to the right feature owners with context and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Experience building internal or customer-facing products with LLMs.
- Skill in writing high-quality, maintainable code.
- Experience in design and development of large-scale distributed, high concurrency, high load, high availability systems;
-
Deep hands-on experience with Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript/Python) in a real-world production environment.
- Demonstrated experience building an automation framework from scratch, with organized test categorization, reusability, and CI/CD integration.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test planning, and test strategy.
- Familiarity with using AI to enhance testing and software development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with test reporting and analytics tools (e.g., Allure, ReportPortal, TestRail)
- Strong scripting and coding skills (JavaScript/TypeScript)
- Experience with test management and defect tracking systems.
- Experience with cloud-based test execution and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps, and cloud services like AWS/GCP is a plus.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills, with a strong ability to advocate for best practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with AI in software testing, such as using AI for test case generation, code coverage analysis, or flaky test detection.
- Knowledge of test framework design and development.
- Strong understanding of test reporting tools and technologies.
Nice to Have
- Contributions to open-source QA frameworks or tools.
- Familiarity with visual regression tools (e.g., Percy, Applitools).
- Knowledge of performance testing tools and integration with automation pipelines.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum or DevOps-centric environments.
Join us in innovating our testing processes and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products through advanced automation techniques.
