We are looking for an AI Architect to define, evolve, and operationalize our AI strategy across the engineering organization. This role blends technical leadership, hands-on architecture, product partnership, and organizational influence.
You will work closely with Product Management and Engineering Leadership to ensure AI is used consistently, effectively, and strategically across six product engineering teams—while encouraging experimentation and innovation within the teams to collaborate on finding the best solutions.
This is not a research role. We’re looking for a builder and systems thinker who can translate emerging AI capabilities into scalable, production-ready solutions.
Strategy & Vision
Define the long-term AI vision and technical direction for the product
Partner with Product Management to influence product strategy and roadmap
Identify opportunities where AI can meaningfully improve customer value
Architecture & Technical Leadership
Design and review architectures and system designs
Establish standards and best practices for AI development
Coordinate AI technologies and tooling across teams
Guide decisions around build vs. buy vs. open-source adoption
Research, Experimentation & Enablement
Lead research and experimentation into new AI technologies
Evaluate emerging tools, models, and platforms
Drive education through documentation, workshops, and mentorship
Organizational Influence
Influence without direct authority across multiple teams
Drive alignment and adoption of AI standards
Lead change management for new tools and approaches
Hands-On Contribution
Stay close to the code and models when needed
Support teams with prototyping, troubleshooting, and architectural decisions
Help modernize legacy AI systems and address technical debt
Cloud: GCP (primary), AWS
AI/ML: Transformers, embedding, model distillation, open classifier models for images, video, and structured data
MLOps and model lifecycle management
Hugging Face ecosystem
Infrastructure: TPUs, NPUs, GPUs, CPUs (inference), GPUs (training)
8–10+ years of experience in software and AI systems development
Experience as a Staff/Principal Engineer, CTO, VP Engineering, or similar
Strong architectural and system design skills
Proven ability to influence and lead across teams
Hands-on experience with production AI systems at scale
Strong communication and teaching skills
Experience in small to mid-sized organizations preferred
Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire;
Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included), or eligible to work in Canada;
