We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Agronomy Solutions Technical Expert (trainee) to join our innovative Seed Marketing and Agronomic Technical Team.

This is an opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals passionate about agriculture and technology. In this dynamic field-based role, you will support the development and execution of Syngenta's technology and variety trial programs, working at the intersection of agronomy, digital innovation, and commercial agriculture.

You will collaborate directly with farmers to test and validate cutting-edge digital seed and crop protection technologies, while collecting and analyzing critical data to support product positioning and calibrate advanced digital solution models.

Accountabilities:

1. Trial Program Support & Execution

  • Communicate with farmers (including CropEX trials) in your assigned territory, serving as the point of contact for trial implementation.
  • Execute trial protocols according to expert guidance and established trial plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates in Syngenta's internal trial management systems, including field data collection and evaluation results.
  • Collect agricultural machinery data using Syngenta-provided connectivity tools.
  • Share analyzed trial results with participating farms at the end of each trial season.
  • Prepare, harvest, transport, and organize seed samples as required.

2. Digital Technology Application

  • Utilize Syngenta's digital data collection technologies as defined in trial protocols.
  • Monitor crop fields using drone flights, high-resolution satellite imagery, and on-site visits.
  • Support farmers in configuring precision agriculture equipment and downloading data (comprehensive training provided).
  • Apply Cropwise services including exploration tools, precision platforms, and GIS data collection standards.
  • Participate in technology validation trials under the guidance of technology experts.

3. Communication & Reporting

  • Maintain regular communication with all farms in your territory, providing hands-on support during critical periods (planting, spraying, and harvest).
  • Participate in regular Crop Expert country meetings.
  • Submit monthly reports on completed activities and expenses accurately and on time.
  • Communicate relevant data and insights to key stakeholders across Commercial Units, Regional, and Global functions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Crop Science, or related field. Graduated in the last 3 years.
  • Understanding of crop growing conditions and how agronomic factors impact crop performance.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office suite); familiarity with data analysis tools is an advantage.
  • Effective communication skills with ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Category B driving license.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the area.
  • Excellent command of both English and Spanish (written and spoken)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Academic projects or internships related to precision agriculture, digital farming, or field trials.
  • Exposure to GIS systems, remote sensing, or spatial data analysis.
  • Familiarity with coding languages or data visualization tools.
  • Experience with agricultural machinery or farm operations.
  • Demonstrated interest in agricultural technology innovation.
