Lead a high-performing contracts and quantity surveying team while managing end-to-end cost operations and fostering strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.
AGM / GM of Contracts and Quantity Surveying
Location:
- KL office based
Work Schedule:
- 5 days a week
Why You Should Apply:
- Join a highly reputable main contractor with established relationships with PMCs and Developers who proactively invite them to bid and tender for work.
- Benefit from an above-average win ratio, increasing the likelihood that your efforts on bids will convert into actual projects.
- Work on ongoing projects that progress phase by phase, supported by strong relationships with suppliers and contractors, and a reputation for timely payments. This makes it easier to build trust, negotiate better pricing, and secure favorable conditions.
- Take over a well-optimized department of 20 staff, with strong documentation, processes, and a positive team culture—no need to fix legacy issues.
What You Will Do:
- Prioritize your team by upskilling, promoting, and managing a high-performing group who enjoy coming to work every day.
- Set the strategy for tendering, negotiation, and pre- and post-contract management.
- Enjoy autonomy in end-to-end cost management, including cost estimates, bill of quantities, tendering and evaluation, change orders, and final account close-out.
- Go beyond budget monitoring by proactively managing contracts and seeking win-win outcomes with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Identify issues early and collaborate with project directors to ensure work is completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
What You Will Need:
- 15-20 years of experience in Contracts and Quantity Surveying.
- Currently in a leadership role (Contract Manager / AGM level) leading a team of 5 or more.
- The majority of your experience should be with a privately owned or listed mid to large main contractor.
- Experience can be a mix of G7 tier 1 and tier 2 building contractors in Malaysia; you should understand best practices and be able to implement the best elements from previous employers.
- Experience in tendering and management of external / non-government projects (building, high-rise, offices, and construction). In-house main-con experience can be considered.
About the Company & Team:
- G7 mid to large main contractor with a small but growing property division, established for over 40 years and listed on Bursa.
- External project portfolio includes high-rise buildings, offices, expo centers, airports, and shopping malls.
- Some high-value government projects (LRT / MRT depots and stations) are in the pipeline, but the company does not rely on government contracts or in-house projects for growth.
- The contracts team consists of 20 members; procurement and legal are managed separately.
How to Apply:
- Click the “apply” button. You may submit an old CV or your LinkedIn profile—just send what you have.
- The recruiter is happy to provide more information before you proceed.
