Our technology organisation supports a large international retail group and plays a key role in driving innovation, data-driven decision-making, and secure, scalable digital solutions. One of the organisation’s strategic initiatives is the Identity & Access Management (IAM) Transformation Program, designed to harmonize and modernize IAM services across brands and European markets.

The IAM Enablement Team is responsible for supporting planning, delivery, and performance across IAM workstreams, working closely with both global and local teams to deliver consistent, secure, and future-ready IAM capabilities.

 

About the Role

As an Agile Release Train Engineer (RTE) within the IAM Transformation Enablement Team, you will lead program-level agile processes, drive alignment across all IAM workstreams, and ensure smooth delivery within a complex, enterprise-wide transformation. You will guide teams through PI (Program Increment) planning, support dependency mapping and resolution, and act as the central coordination point between global platform teams, local market teams, and leadership stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

Agile Release Train Engineering & Program Coordination

  • Lead Program Increment (PI) Planning: Facilitate quarterly planning sessions for multiple teams to ensure alignment with program objectives.

  • Manage Program Delivery: Ensure the Agile Release Train (ART) delivers value consistently, while identifying and mitigating risks and dependencies.

  • Cross-Workstream Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between the Enablement Team, IAM platform teams, and European business units.

  • Ensure Agile Methodology Adoption: Promote consistent use of agile principles, ceremonies, and best practices across all workstreams.

Stakeholder Management & Alignment

  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear communication across stakeholders, including leadership, platform teams, and external vendors.

  • Dependency Management: Identify and manage cross-team dependencies to support coordinated delivery.

  • Reporting: Provide structured updates on program health, risks, progress, and dependencies to senior stakeholders.

Facilitation & Coaching

  • Lead Key Agile Ceremonies: Facilitate PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Sprint Reviews, Backlog Refinements, and Retrospectives.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Coach teams on agile ways of working, problem-solving, and performance improvement.

  • Foster Agile Mindset: Encourage collaboration, ownership, and accountability at scale.

Jira & Backlog Management

  • Jira Administration: Oversee setup, structure, and maintenance of Jira boards, including epics, stories, workflows, and reporting.

  • Data-Driven Backlog Management: Work with teams to prioritize and manage the central Data Driven Backlog, ensuring alignment with program goals.

Your Profile

Must-Haves

  • 5+ years’ experience as an RTE, Scrum Master, or Agile Coach in large, complex environments.

  • Strong experience leading PI Planning and applying agile delivery at scale.

  • Solid understanding of SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, and scaled agile practices.

  • Proficiency in Jira, including workflow configuration and reporting.

  • Experience with large transformation programs and cross-team dependency management.

  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Fluent in English.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience within IAM or broader security/cloud transformation initiatives.

  • SAFe certification (e.g., SPC) or other agile certifications.

  • Dutch language proficiency.
