Do you treat Cloud Platforms as a Product?

As a Senior Product Manager, you will take ownership of our Private Cloud (based on VMware by Broadcom) as a distinct, sovereign product. You will define the platform's vision, strategy, and evolution, ensuring it is perfectly aligned with both business and IT requirements.

In this role, you consciously position our VMware-based Private Cloud as a product with a clear value proposition—not merely as underlying infrastructure. You operate at the intersection of technology, business strategy, and organization, steering the strategic development of our Private Cloud platform in alignment with company goals.

Tasks

• Visionary Leadership: You define the product vision and strategy for our Private Cloud (VMware by Broadcom), including clear target states, value propositions, and differentiation against Public Cloud offerings.
• Lifecycle Management: You are responsible for the entire Product Lifecycle—from discovery and delivery to continuous improvement.
• Strategic Decisions: You make well-founded make-or-buy decisions regarding platform services, tooling, and partner solutions.
• Roadmap: You develop and prioritize a strategic product roadmap based on business value, platform capabilities, and customer requirements.
• Trend Analysis: You analyze market and technology trends (e.g., VMware by Broadcom, Cloud-Native, Sovereignty, Compliance) and derive concrete product initiatives.
• 360° Management: You manage stakeholders across all levels—from Platform, Architecture, and DevOps teams to Top Management and C-Level.
• Transparency: You create transparency regarding priorities, dependencies, and conflicting goals, and you moderate strategic decisions with confidence.
• Product Ownership: Acting as a Product Owner, you prioritize the backlog according to business outcomes and platform value.
• Delivery: You formulate clear User Stories and Epics, ensuring a fast time-to-market while maintaining platform stability.
• Collaboration: You work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Security teams.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5–7+ years of experience in Technical Product Management, ideally within the Private Cloud, Cloud Platforms, Hosting, or Managed Services environment.
• Productization: Proven experience in the "productization" of infrastructure or platform services.
• Tech Stack: Very good understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware) and Private Cloud architectures. Knowledge of container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and Cloud-Native principles.
• Architecture: Experience with modern IT architectures (Microservices, API-First) as well as integration with hyperscalers.
• Methodology: Confident use of agile methods (Scrum, Kanban) and product roadmapping tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Productboard).
• Data-Driven: You make decisions based on KPIs and platform metrics.
• Soft Skills: Strategic thinking, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to enforce standards and target visions. You possess strong communication skills and diplomatic flair when dealing with diverse stakeholders.
• Languages: Fluent in German and English (business level).
