Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Adult Community Speech and Language Therapist to join a community service in Hampshire on a locum basis from 9th March.

This role offers flexibility, with a significant proportion of appointments delivered via telehealth. Remote working is available; however, the successful candidate will be required to attend either Winchester or BNHH for induction to enable secure remote system access. A laptop and phone will be provided.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a Band 6 clinician, although experienced Band 7 therapists will also be considered. The contract is expected to run until 30th June, with the service anticipated to TUPE to another provider thereafter.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of adult patients within the community setting.

  • Assess, diagnose and treat adults with speech, language and communication needs.

  • Independently assess and manage patients with dysphagia (essential requirement).

  • Deliver therapy via a combination of face-to-face and telehealth appointments.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional standards.

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient-centred care.


Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).

  • HCPC registration and RCSLT membership.

  • Proven experience working with adults in a community setting.

  • Competency in dysphagia assessment and management (essential).

  • Strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to work autonomously.

  • Experience in communication disorders management (desirable).
