Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Adult Community Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a supportive and progressive community team in West Yorkshire. This role involves working with adults who have acquired communication or swallowing difficulties resulting from conditions such as stroke, neurological disorders, or progressive illness.

The service provides comprehensive care and rehabilitation, supporting individuals whose communication and/or swallowing needs impact their quality of life. The role offers a mixture of face-to-face and virtual working, enabling flexible and responsive care delivery within the community.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:
• Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with dysphagia and communication difficulties in the community.
• Deliver therapy through a combination of in-person and virtual sessions to meet patients’ individual needs.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals to develop holistic care plans and promote safe swallowing and effective communication.
• Provide education and support to patients, families, and carers to enhance independence and quality of life.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with professional and service standards.
• Contribute to ongoing service improvement and the development of community-based SLT provision.


Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:
• A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
• Clinical experience in adult community settings, including dysphagia management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
